Let's take a look at the final two possibilities for romance, It's either Vivienne or Blackwall. Now honestly I don't see Blackwall happening, apart from the fact that it creates an unfair divide gender wise there's also the obvious detail that the man is a middle aged grey warden. Now we all know what that means, chances are we'll get to the end of the game at which point he'll dramatically die. I don't really see a man who is near death wishing to be in a heavily committed relationship. Then there's Vivienne who is always looking to improve her station from what we know, The human Inquisitor is a nobleman. Now even if you're a human mage you are still of noble blood which I think she'll see as a political advantage, this isn't very romantic I know but the way I see it going down is like this, At first she'll want you for the power it affords her but down the line she'll slowly become emotionally attached to you at which point she'll be horrified and try to break things off much like Morrigan did.

I really don't see Vivienne being gated to humans because of political advantage the Inquisitor no matter the race is more powerful than any noble could be and the last thing I want is another Morrigan I liked her Character in DAO and I don't want a Copy Cat Romance in DAI.

It's already been stated that non human inquisitors will still face prejudice so a human inquisitor is still a more viable option for romance, As for the Blackwall point I refer you to my previous statement, he is a dying man.

So, if we can take a break from speculating about who will be the last LI out of the two; Who does everyone plan to romance out of the options so far?

Right now, I'm thinking it's just Dorian, for me. I don't see Blackwall making it in as m/m and I don't think I can bring myself to romance Iron Bull. I've been trying to wrap my head around a character that would work with him, but it's just not happening. I'm hoping that maybe we can completely turn him against the Qun, but Bioware doesn't seem to do very divergent paths for characters, so I assume it's always a stay or go situation with Iron Bull. If he does turn against the Qun, maybe I can make something work, but I guess we'll have to see. In DA2 I tried to get past the fact that I didn't agree with Fenris, but I got so attached to Anders that I ended up just doing his romance again. I can see that happening with Dorian this time.

Probably Cassandra, Mainly because she seems the most interesting out of the available options for straight male inquisitors.

Dorian for Hayden, Sera for Revas, Josephine for Issala, and Iron Bull for Meraad so far. I was counting on Solas being an option for Samahl, but that whole thing was shot for obvious reasons. I planned for Mana to be with Vivienne, but I'll probably be disappointed in that regard as well.

Cassandra, though I'm concerned she may be race gated aganst elves at the moment, since that's what I plan on playing in my first playthrough. Still doubt it, but if Vivienne is the final LI and what Gaider said about the last two Li's not being race gated is true then Cassandra seems ro be the only choice.

I do want to do an Iron Bull/ male elf playthrough at some point though, so I guess I could just work around it if she is. The very fact that Iron Bull is a romance option at all shows that he's sufficiently unserious about the qun for me.

I have also been thinking about romancing Dorian if Blackwall doesn't make it but nah maybe I will just romance Josephine then

Blackwall would definitely be my first choice though

It seems odd to me to assume that BioWare would balk at an "unfair gender divide", someone's getting shafted either way. But it's going to be gay men. I knew that back when they announced that there would be any sort of gating at all.

I may well not romance anybody. I would rather have no gay romances at all than this.

At the moment they are the only demographic other than bisexals and female elves to have at least two companion romaces.

I have 9 planned inquisitors, and for OCD related reasons, it is a definitive number.

6 of those Inquisitors have definitive LIs: Vapaus (FE) and Erebea (FQ) will go for Sera, Omen (ME) for Cass, Saxton (MH) for Dorian, Glowa (FD) for Josephine and Aquila (FE) for Solas.

That leaves 3 Inquisitors who have very specific standards:

Meiyo - FH - Andrastian, seeks Anstrastian LI

Sigrun - FD - True neutral, doesn't bother much with romance

Prabalya - FH - Mage supremacist, mage LI or GTFO

Best case scenario, Viv is les/bi, so she can be romanced by both Meiyo and Prabaya, Sigrun being the nomance.

Worst case scenarii, Viv straight or BW gay, then Prabalya will be the nomance, with Meiyo going for Josephine and Sigrun going for Sera.

In the event of a straight/bi BW, then Meiyo will go for him, with Sigrun going for Sera and Prabaya will be the nomance

I have everything covered :police:

And? BioWare has insisted, repeatedly, that they've made special effort to ensure that the NPC romances will not feel like 'lesser romances'.

The only conclusion is that gay men are getting screwed over.

Dorian , first playthrough , with a Dalish rogue. (well of course if he isn't race gated)

Then Sera or the Bull for my human mage.I think I'm going to like Sera a bit more...(same as Dorian if there's no race gate problem)

If there's some romance I really like , I'll make an Inquisitor for it.

The romance I'm less excited about are Cullen and Josephine.

It's possible that he's less a "romance option" and more a "casual sex option".

Personaly, he gives a "DAI's Isabela" vibe.

That still goes heavily against what the qun preaches, though.

And I doubt any of the romances are a "casual sex option". At the very least I'd expect something similar to Isabela's romance.

Cullen with my qunari mage lady Skye, Dorian with my dalish elf guy Tamarin and Cassandra with my human guy Michal. I have one quizzy who I can't seem to find match with since anyone is gated against her who I have planned, qunari lady Valpur XD Maybe I romance Cullen twice..

I'd like to romance Solas and Bull at some point but it's hard to come up with quizzy for Solas since I have no intrest towards female dalish elf. With Iron Bull.. I don't have come up with quizzy yet who would fit him ^^

They said there would be 8 romance options and they announced Iron Bull as a romance option, so I don't think he would be just a casual sex option.

It would also mean that gay men only have Dorian and straight women only have Cullen and an LI that's only available to elves.

... And that their casual sex option was originally planned as gated.

While I believe there is no difference between companion LI's and non-companion LI's people were very vocal about it awhile back. I even specifally remember some some people saying that gay male players would "get the short end of the stick" and their exclusive LI would "only" be an NPC. Lo and behold, they are the only demographic who have access to two companion LI's as any race (going by what we know at the moment).

I fail to see how that is "getting screwed over".
