It's ridiculous? No, it's really not. It's been every game Bioware has ever made. It's not "ridiculous" to assume there's a decent chance this one will not be a complete turn around. It's perfectly reasonable to assume the chance is as good or better that things will remain the same, especially with at least one extra straight romance now announced, which lends towards not much change.

It's like complaining about how bad a movie is based on past experiecnes while walking to the theater to watch it. Why not just wait an hour, actually watch the latest installment and then discuss how bad or good it is?

Thank you, Now maybe this can go back to the topic. Which romance option is everyone interested in the most and why?

Solas and Dorian :) my romance choices for playthroughs one and two. They're also the two characters I am most interested in discovering more about

Thread needs more comedy.

Two antennas got married once.  The wedding was OK, but the reception was awesome.

Cullen, because I think it will be very interesting to see how he has developed over the last two games.  I'll end up romancing him as both a wanna be templar warrior and as a mage, and I'm curious how differently they might turn out.  I imagine both characters will find things to talk about with him, both from different points of view.

Honestly, I'm not sure.  I'm currently really liking Josephine and Dorian.  I might consider Iron Bull and Cassandra, depending on how I like them when I actually play the game.  But most likely I'll be going for Josie.  She seems like she'll be a good fit for my first Inquisitor.

You're mistaken, I was referring to Kingthlayer's putrid, unwarranted attack on Nocte ad Mortem, which, strangely, you all have yet to criticise!

Although, it is hilarious that your ad hominem attacks and deliberate misrepresentation of my points is apparently totally within forum rules, but discussing BioWare's "inclusivity" within current societal context is taboo.

Nocte doesn't need us to defend him, he's shown he's perfectly capable of defending himself.

and Kingslayer has always seemed like a troll, nothing new there.

To answer the question properly, I'm most looking forward to Solas because I have a ladyboner for his mysterious personality. It happens sometimes..

...And I think I'm gonna go before more **** hits the ceiling fan.

So, yeah, three characters who caught my interest: Dorian, Iron Bull, and Josephine.

Cassandra *AND* Josephine.
It's terrible, I can't choose between them.

You too huh? For me it started out as going for Cassandra but since I'm a qunari I should consider josephine as a backup in case of race gatedness, but over time and learning more about her she won me over. If Cassandra isn't race gated I've got a hard decision to make.

Cassandra. I've had a big thing for warrior women ever since I read the second book of Kingkiller Chronicles.

Though Josephine is starting is almost as high on my priorities.

Why not just wait and see what happens? Maybe because a game is a significant investment, and money is not unlimited, and a studio's track record is actually a pretty decent indicator of how its other products will turn out?

Some people always think others have to like the parts of the games they like to have an opinion. I'm not really concerned with a non-Bioware employee telling me why I am or am not justified in buying Bioware games.

We already know it has at least two male/male LI's, two homosexual companions, a bisexual companion and advisor, and that one of the major NPC's, the empress of Orlais, is a lesbian.

We're hardly going in blind with regards to LGBT representation.

It's actually nothing like that. Like, not even very slightly. It's like complaining that The Avengers don't have enough minority characters and being not very surprised when it turns out they're not adding many new women or racial minorities, or any gays. It's taking your previous experience with a specific producer of media and applying it to what expectations you can expect to safely approach with them.

I'm gonna take a crazy guess that I know Nocte and what he's capable of a lot better than you do.

Out of curiosity, whom did I attack, who is apparently so incapable of defending themselves, that so many of you felt instantly compelled to leap to their defence?

I'm sadly getting the feeling Inquisition will be the same as Mass effect for me. Were I would have to choose between these options: Cassandra (Ashley) that I found annoying or Josephine (Liara) that I found boring. I hope I'm wrong, but so far that's how I feel. Hope Vivienne will also be an option so we can be mage supremacists together and ride off in the sunset.

I'll be honest. I'm not interested in Josephine at all. Sure, she's physically attractive. However, I don't like her personality type. As I've said previously (to some minor criticism from others), she seems too "Mary Sueish" for my tastes. Perhaps my opinion of her will change later. Perhaps not.

Besides, I want my love interest in the party with me at all times. Cassandra and Sera both fit the bill. Furthermore, I find them both physically attractive and I love both of their personalities.

If Vivienne ends up being romanceable, she'll be my second or third romance. For similar reasons as Cass and Sera.

Except we already know that Inquisition has more LGBT chaarcters than any previous Bioware game. And that's only major characters, we still don't know anything about the orientation of minor NPC's.

So to be more accurate, it's like bickering about the lack of minority characters on the way to see Avengers when the trailer specifically advertised their new set of minority characters.

the avengers is a poor example its a movie based on characters that were made over 40 years ago when the world was a very different place to live in

You need to relax friend, theirs no need to sound so snappy. I wasn't insulting you or Nocte in anyway.

Hello to everyone! I've only just started to learn abut dragon age inquisition and I am amazed about most of the features including a gay man companion character written by DG!! About the last LI I hope its Blackwall since I find bearded men really attractive but if not it's alright. I am really looking forward to seeing all of them in-game though.

As for my cannon inquisitor, all I know is it will be a male. I'll play around a bit with the CC and choose the one who turns out the best and I'll romance whoever feels right lol.

Where did I say that such a set-up would make me unhappy? Even just having a truly equal set-up would make me extremely happy. But it would still not be "fair". Things will never be fair. The scales are already unbalanced by the millennia of unfairness that have gone before. It is possible to be happy in a situation while still recognising that it is unfair.

-snip-

Off topic, but this just made me want to say that even though both straight and LGBT folk usually think christian homophobia is almost as old as the religion, in fact it's not much older than 4 centuries.

Long story short, it all started when the templar order (RL Templars) became too rich and powerful for the church's tastes and they basically accused they member of this new thing called sodomy in order to exterminate them.  More info: http://rictornorton.co.uk/homopho5.htm

There're also records of gay religious marriages that took place in Spain during the middle ages.  Just google Spanish gay medieval weddings or go here: http://knowledgenuts...f-gay-marriage/

Btw, it's nice to see more acceptance on this forums than a few years ago.

Yeah, it's not as if Marvel's characters have been rebooted, rewritten and re-conceptualised for modern audiences!

Certainly not dozens of times since their creation!

And the films are extremely faithful adaptations! They do not skip or alter any details at all!

Bad news chum. Vivienne's big thing is she's NOT a mage supremecist.

She thinks the "freedom" thing is BS.
