Cassandra is an in your face, ends justify the means (Crestwood demo not saving the village), deep down romantic warrior woman.

Josephine is an adorable, seaside trip loving, wine loving and pen-is-mightier-than-sword diplomatic lady.

Both have accents and both are devoted to the Inquisition.

Both are also romanceable firsts in Dragon Age games.

Cassandra is the first romanceable female warrior, Josephine is the first romanceable female diplomat.

Cassandra is a mix of Ashley and Aveline.

Josephine is a mix of Liara and Samantha Traynor.

Both appeal to different types of male Inquisitors.

Depends on who you are and what type of women you like. You can't go wrong with either of them though.

I like Cassandra more than Josephine, but she seems like she'll be a fun, interesting romance, as well.

Personally, though, I find ambition very sexy, so I'm hoping Vivienne and I can build a new world, together, atop the ashes and crumpled corpses of our enemies.

At least they bother to try. Pretty much any other company won't care about adding such contents, were the protagonists and characters are either straight or the title is mostly actions focused and won't bother to explore the characters sexuality at all.

That is why I buy Bioware's games and the games from other companies that are making an effort. I don't buy games from studios that are doing nothing. Bioware is getting my support and I recognize that they're making an effort. I'm on the BSN in recognition that they're a company that's trying and listening. However, the entire media industry needs to change when it comes to inclusion issues, not just concerning the LGBT community, and that includes Bioware and the companies currently making "some effort". It's wrong to say they deserve zero acknowledgment of what they have done right, but it's also wrong to say they deserve zero feedback on what they're not doing right.

I think the frustration that people are reading from gay men is because, up until Solas was announced as straight, it seemed likely that we would be getting either the same amount of options as everyone else or possibly even one option more than some demographics.  Now, with that one announcement, it's looking increasingly likely that we will actually be getting the least amount of options again.  Just like that.  And I think it still stings a bit.

No one is saying that Bioware doesn't do more than other developers, because that suggestion would be ludicrous.  No one is even suggesting that Bioware has done a "bad" job with gay representation.  It's just that it hasn't been as "good" as some people make it out to be.  Remember that Bioware has put out 10 games with romances.  In 6 of those games, there weren't m/m options.  We had zero representation.  In two out of the other four games, we had only a single "choice", which was tied for least amount of choices with lesbian players.  In the remaining two games, we were tied for least amount of choices in both of them (with everyone but straight women in DA 2 and with everyone but straight men in ME 3).

It's certainly been getting better, but it's still not great.  I think a lot of gay men were really thrilled that everyone would have the same amount of choices (3 each), including us.  Instead, we've got a straight Solas and likely a bisexual Vivienne coming, which means that everyone will get 3 choices.......except for us.  I think that this is where the frustration lies.

Perhaps we are wrong and Blackwall is the last LI.  But that's looking less and less likely.  I think people are just venting a bit right now because it's still a little raw.  We'll get over it once we accept it and get into the game and see how amazing Dorian and Iron Bull are, I'm sure.  But it doesn't take away the fact that this might very well be the 11th game in a row from Bioware that we get the least amount of options (or tied for the least amount of options).

When I meet someone with an attitude I don't like, I mind my own business.

Just sayin'.

But this is a discussion forum, being so aggressive does not help to promote discussion. There are people here who get what you're saying and appreciate that you're disappointed, but can't stomach such bad feeling. There are other people here in the same boat as you. These people ARE minding their own business. And they shouldn't have to.

No, seriously, I'm genuinely curious. Why does it need to change?

I'm not particularly interested in discussion so much as saying my piece and moving on.

That sure explains a lot.

Oh look, someone wants to play Devil's Pedant.

By that logic, slavery should never have been abolished, because, strictly speaking, society didn't need to do it.

Trust me no one is going to listen to anything you have to say because of the way you stated your opinion. Your time has been wasted.

People that ask questions like that have already made up their mind. It's a exercise in futility to go there with them. They want you to be aggravated, so you might as well not give it to them.

I understand. It just seems that sometimes fans become so harsh they are not being critical anymore but outright ungrateful. Of course, I'm not saying everyone acts like that, but some sure do. I'm sorry for Solas, I myself was expecting him to be race gated bi, rather then straight. That would surely give even options for everyone considering you're willing to play the required race.

Ah, despite all their efforts Bioware get called bigoted and other terrible things they don't deserve. Again
I just offer all the complainers to imagine the game industry without Bioware and how different it would be. Try to count how many games there would be which include minorities as important characters without DA, ME etc
Because sure Bioware can do so much better. But they could do so much worse and I think that sometimes people need to remember to appreciate what they have
Maybe I can't play as a woman in Ubisoft games and Japanese games are full of jiggle mechanics. But I can in Bioware games and this is ****** fantastic that there are game developers who care. If anything Ive already lost my faith in humanity and the world overall so I prefer to treasure few good people and things now... Because one day they will be no more

If people are more concerned with the way I state my opinion than the merit of my actual points, then they aren't worth my time, or the oxygen required to keep their brains functioning.

Do you seriously think I have any intention of swaying people to my side? It's not my first time on the internet.

I agree with most of what you're saying, I absolutely do. But this is not productive in any way, You're just making people angry.

Guys, I'm not looking to get a rise out of anyone. I just want an honest to the gods explanation of why you think that way, because I genuinely don't understand. If you explain, maybe I will understand your position better.

Unfortunately the thread seems too toxic at the moment.  I'd recommend asking later, after a hazmat team moderator does their work

The complaints that I have read thus far have not been anything like what you are describing.  They are giving legitimate feedback over an issue that warrants concern.  They are aware that Bioware does more for the LBGT community then most, but that does not make them immune to negative feedback.  In fact BioWare has always welcomed feedback from fans.

If everyone only gave positive feedback, there would be very little chance of things ever getting better in these situations.  Constructive feedback of the negative variety just proves the point that BioWare fans are very passionate and they know what BioWare is capable of and wish to see the best product possible.

I'm not very good at making points, but I'll do my best.

It's about being inclusive, up until about 10 years ago. Gay romances in...pretty much any form of media were unheard of. It just didn't happen, most are grateful for the strides that have been made, because we've come a LONG way in the last decade or so. But that doesn't mean it's enough, I personally will not be happy until we're all equal, in both rights and representation.

Saying that others deserve to die for disagreeing with you is not constructive feedback
Or acting bratty and hysterical, really
