You really need to let that tweet go, Twitter is hardly a confirmation ground for things they haven't officially announced, They are not going to confirm anything on there that doesn't have an official and public confirmation, Solas was different cause it was a mess up on Mark's part. Gaider simply meant he never confirmed or denied the last two were the race gates.

But...romance is part of the game. A romance quest is not that different from any other quest, and it can be an even dicier proposition this time around because there is no approval, and no gifts (or limited gifts). If anything, companion relationships could be one of the most challenging things to get right in Inquisition, considering the various types of choices we'll be making and how our companions tie into the major plots. Removing those would be shortsighted and eliminate something that a lot of people truly enjoy and appreciate, especially when they could have probably cut way down on complaints and drama if they'd just info dumped romances at the outset and been done with it.

And you're acting like romances are the only thing that make people lose their **** wrt BW games. Look at Scuttlebutt right now. Look at all the keymashing rage directed at BW for the 8 abilities decision. Go back and look at all the paranoid threads about the PC UI, or hair. If they decided to abandon certain elements because it causes issues and problems in the community, then their game would essentially be nothing more than a nug simulator narrated by Sandal.

I never said someone was less of a gamer if they liked romancing.  But as someone who plays the game and is assumingly going to like DA: I I think you or anyone else would welcome 5-10 more quests, or a new town,  or some items/crafting, or even an entire new party member that is not currently in the game as a surprise right?  that would be cool to for everyone here.  And with that no one here would feel alienated by it or be angry.

I don't really understand how Gaider and Allan's comments about gating distribution balance against each other, either. I think they may just be creating tag-team mayhem behind the scenes.

I think Gaider's quote on the subject could simply mean that people have no real reason to assume or take for granted that the remaining LI is race gated like Solas. That doesn't mean said LI isn't the race gate, but that there's no more or less evidence to support them being the race gate than Cass, Cullen, Dorian, or Sera.

You're right as to what the tweet means if taken literally, but it's possible Mr Gaider simply muddled his phrasing and said something he didn't intend.

I believe Vivienne will be the last LI.

 

Remember ? Vivienne and Cassandra had a valentine card, but not Varric. ( and he isn't an Li unlike Cassandra ) We should be so lucky.   

 

Also Sheryl shee quickly corrected some people who were telling that a dev said at pax " you wanted Duncan, you couldn't, now you can romance Blackwall. " or something like that.

 

She could have stayed silent, nothing forced her to say something if it were true. It's like she wanted to avoid people being excited for nothing...

Bioware are masters of word phrasing which is why I never believe anything they say on Twitter before its been confirmed elsewhere first, They can tell you whatever they want but the truth on Twitter, thats why I think any tweets that don't have any other confirmation to back them should be taken with a grain of salt.

Hints and history definitely favor it being Vivienne. I will be surprised if it isn't. I'm content with it being a bisexual Vivienne, since that will mean more people getting even options. It would be nice to have Blackwall, but it means less people getting even distribution that way, so I can't feel too bad if it's not. Even though it really sucks to come in last again. 

 

A straight Vivienne is.. a little more of a let down. But at least it's not one demographic getting 4 options to other's 2 options, I guess.

How is it favoring male characters?; in the race gating thread(now on page 2),as of right now without knowing the other race gate, every straight character and every gay character all have two options, except for straight female elves who have three options. And all bi characters have three options, except for bi female elves, who have four options.

 

So right now the only demographic that can be accused of favoritism is female elves. 

 

Sorry, I didn't mean "favor" as in they have it better/more options.  I meant "favor" as in there are more male characters than females.  I should have been clearer.

You also have five weapon skills and can switch between two weapons in combat freely, though. So it's more like 15 abilities at once.

none of which has been LI information or anything truly ground breaking. A Bioware employee explained the tweet and your still taking it the literal way when its obvious the tweet was him stating he never confirmed or denied that the last 2 are the race gates, which is obvious cause of how they have kept the last two under wraps.

You mean during the game?  A party member inevitably dying during the game would be lame.  And the Calling doesn't just sneak up on people, so he would at least last until the end of the mission... otherwise why would he volunteer to help us?  Why not tell one of the younger Wardens to follow us around?

Yep, people consider it to be in the "gray-asexual" area.  I like to think of "asexual" as an umbrella term, with lots of variants.  Obviously I can't speak for demisexuals as a whole (I consider myself ace, not demi), but I usually default to the attitude that people are welcome to define themselves as they please.  Or, you know, feel free not to define themselves.  Nothing wrong with that.  

 

And just to stay on topic....

 

I was thinking Vivienne would be the most obvious choice for the last LI, given how much marketing has surrounded her, but I wouldn't be too beaten up over Blackwall as the last LI.  Not sure I'd pursue a Vivienne romance just because I've never been a huge fan of the "Defrosting Ice Queen" trope.  Are people generally more favorable of Vivienne as the last LI, or Blackwall?  From what I've seen it looks like a fairly even split.
