To be honest, neither Vivienne or Blackwall has had a strong, vocal fanbase, at least in comparison to most other characters.

But, as far as statistical use goes, female LIs generally end up with more playthroughs to them and Vivienne likely would be chosen more than Blackwall in the long run.

*snip*

I was thinking Vivienne would be the most obvious choice for the last LI, given how much marketing has surrounded her, but I wouldn't be too beaten up over Blackwall as the last LI.  Not sure I'd pursue a Vivienne romance just because I've never been a huge fan of the "Defrosting Ice Queen" trope.  Are people generally more favorable of Vivienne as the last LI, or Blackwall?  From what I've seen it looks like a fairly even split.

Who said anything about defrosting? :D

yeah you are probably right but still its a shame he seems soo much more interesting (nothing against Vivienne but I just couldn't pass on the opportunity to romance this grey warden with my male Human Mage)

none of which has been LI information or anything truly ground breaking. A Bioware employee explained the tweet and your still taking it the literal way when its obvious the tweet was him stating he never confirmed or denied that the last 2 are the race gates, which is obvious cause of how they have kept the last two under wraps.

It's not obvious to me, which is why I remain skeptical on this.  But I'm happy to agree to disagree on this one.  We'll see "shortly after" PAX, I guess.

The good thing about Blackwall as gay/bi would be that it would break the knightly hero/warrior types as straight trope. Especially since they thought it was a super good time to make the elven male straight, despite already having another straight knightly hero/warrior type. It would be nice to actually get a trade off.

But I'm not expecting it at all.

I'm certain I am wrong somewhere. With Mort we both said that Solas would be one of the last LIs, but we were totally wrong about his sexuality and  the race gating, LOL !

The only time I had totally right was with Dorian, Varric and Cullen.

Also when Sera was revealed as the lesbian option, I was also convinced that Solas would be straight and I said it the first night, but people convinced me that Bioware couldn't do that because otherwise it would mean that there would be no elven options for male players. Oh man, I laughed so hard, it just totally happened actually.

Was totally wrong about Cassandra as straight, didn't think Bioware would have the balls to do such thing given the big female fanbase.

Technically, IB is bisexual and he's a warrior.

Guess it's a matter of personal preference, I always enjoy romancing characters that pretend they are above feelings.

But he'd probably rip your kneecaps off if you called him a knightly hero type. Calling him nightly, on the other hand...

I gave you one cuz you talk sense a lot of the time and its hard to argue with your logic.  Down to earth poster.   i also made yours 1,068.  I haven't came up with a good reason as to why that is significant...just know that it is B)

He's a warrior, but he's not the "knightly hero" stereotype. He's more of the "promiscuous bisexual" trope we get in every game.

I believe Nocte meant a "Knight-in-shining-armor" archetype ^_^

The knights in shining armor for the last two games have been women.

I've said this before, but...the composition of a character's fanbase has little to no bearing on that particular character's sexual orientation.

I was right about Dorian, Sera and Cassandra. I thought Solas would be bi once we knew about Cullen, who I thought would be bi before that, and I was sure Iron Bull was going to be heavily gated.

So, basically, there's about a 50/50 shot I could be right based on my past guessed.. on a guess between two people. lol

Well, after Anders, the all bi system, and many of their statements after DAII, ( fairness and how it comes first, before any other consideration ) I didn't believe such thing had little to no bearing on their considerations.

I think the in Dragon Age 2, it was because of lack of time and resources.

Oh in that case then yes.

But I think that some people, including me, believe that there's a stereotype where knights are straight males and so we're saying if Blackwall were homosexual/ bisexual then he would break the stereotype.

Oh I under stand that.  I just wanted to point out that Bioware has been playing with the white knight archetype for awhile.  Saying that, I wouldn't object to a gay version of a white knight.  I'm sure they're plenty of men who would find that appealing.
