I'm counting DAI, so Cassandra.
But regardless of being women, they do fit what they originally said, if Blackwall goes for guys it will break the straight monopoly on knightly characters.

Cassandra counts as another knightly hero, I'd say, and she's still straight. ![]()
Well, after Anders, the all bi system, and many of their statements after DAII, ( fairness and how it comes first, before any other consideration ) I didn't believe such thing had little to no bearing on their considerations.
Did Merrill, Isabela, Fenris, and Anders each have large mixed-gender fanbases prior to DA2? ![]()
Clearly, Cassandra's "large female fanbase" had no bearing on her sexuality. Otherwise, she would have been bisexual or a lesbian.
Oh I under stand that. I just wanted to point out that Bioware has been playing with the white knight archetype for awhile. Saying that, I wouldn't object to a gay version of a white knight. I'm sure they're plenty of men who would find that appealing.
While I don't disagree at all that Cassandra fits the stereotype that I'm talking about, Cullen definitely does, also. It doesn't have to be just one per game.
Oh in that case then yes.
But I think that some people, including me, believe that there's a stereotype where knights are straight males and so we're saying if Blackwall were homosexual/ bisexual then he would break the stereotype.
Spring Cleaning Checklist:
Ensure that all knights are shiny and straight
--- Check
Defrost the Ice Queen
--- Check
If a joke like this can be played straight, it's time to mix things up a bit.
So yeah, I'm hoping for Blackwall as a bisexual option.

This would make me deeply sad, Mainly just because I'd have less options than everyone else. Petty I know but still.

Sure, there's plenty of room for variation within the archetype. Including for a Gay or Bisexual man.
Edit: And a Gay or Bisexual woman.

Cassandra isn't the Ice Queen, Vivienne is
Cass is definitly more fire than ice.
And just to stay on topic....
I was thinking Vivienne would be the most obvious choice for the last LI, given how much marketing has surrounded her, but I wouldn't be too beaten up over Blackwall as the last LI. Not sure I'd pursue a Vivienne romance just because I've never been a huge fan of the "Defrosting Ice Queen" trope. Are people generally more favorable of Vivienne as the last LI, or Blackwall? From what I've seen it looks like a fairly even split.
I think many here on the boards don't mind either, it seems kinda even, then again both fanbases for those characters here are a smaller crowd compared to some of the other characters.
Personally I'm hoping for Viv, bisexual option would be great but if that last spot goes to Blackwall I'll be bummed sure but happy for the folk who want him.

I don't think you understand why I'm pointing out Anders.... Anyway I don't want to talk about this touchy subject, it's behind us. If you are going to argue, argue about something interesting and relevant.
Also you don't seem to get what I'm telling. In the past. Of course that it had no bearing on Cassandra's sexuality. Now I know it's the case. That's what you should have understood alone from my first and second post since I said I was totally wrong with my beliefs....

Then everyone is murdered by X Companion at a wedding nothing good can ever happen ever because reasons.
I've said this before, but...the composition of a character's fanbase has little to no bearing on that particular character's sexual orientation.
So sad - no Varric
...I was getting ready to actually play as a dwarf, too.
I do like to play as an elf, though. I just wish Solas had hair. ![]()
I agree it will be Vivienne. That would make sense. I think they did a pretty good job of giving options, actually. except....No Varric!

And the game ends with you being stabbed by your staff, while they mutter "For the inquisition".

Yeah I agree with you they definitely have, especially with Aveline! And I'm sure they would
And the game ends with you being stabbed by your staff, while they mutter "For the inquisition".
But it's all good because it turns out the Elder One is HILARIOUSLY bad at running an empire and doesn't last more than a few years on the throne before getting poisoned leading to ANOTHER round of potential war.
Can you imagine if they switched all their tropes? Monosexuals are promiscuous, Bi people are saintly. Straight people are rare.
A Bi Alistair, a gay Zevran, A Lesbian Morrigan, a Bi Leliana
A lesbian Liara, the Asari who are an all lesbian race.
Bisexual Kaiden
Bisexual Ashley
lesbian Miranda, Bisexual tali, Lesbian Jack,
Bisexual Jacob, Bisexual Garrus, Bisexual Thane
Straight Kelly
Lesbian Liara, Lesbian Miranda, Lesbian Jack,
Still Bisexual Kaiden, Bisexual Garrus,
Bisexual Tali,
Straight Traynor, Straight Cortez,
And as ridiculous as it looks, it is still more fair than if what their sexualities were rather than their trope was switched. The reasons lesbians make out like a bandit in this scenario is there are just more "promiscuous randy" women portrayed than way than men regardless of sexuality.
Oh in that case then yes.
But I think that some people, including me, believe that there's a stereotype where knights are straight males and so we're saying if Blackwall were homosexual/ bisexual then he would break the stereotype.
Maybe the Templar in MP will be queer.
Lmao it's gonna happen
Maybe the Templar in MP will be queer.
I haven't seen the Templar card. Is it a female Templar? And yes, I hope so!
No romance thread is complete without it, even if multiple times, but...
We need dwarf romances ![]()

I am fairly sure they will avoid any sexuality with all the MP characters
