Pretty sure the devs have already stated there's a story reason for being elf-exclusive, so I doubt it comes down to just preference.

 

Maybe, but I hardly think that story reason suggests manipulation or an ulterior motive.

 

My bigger frustration is with the attitude that characters should be romantically attracted to everybody (or group X/Y/Z) because of some perceived personality trait like tolerance, curiosity or open-mindedness - which I've repeatedly seen brought up in relation to Solas. That's a reasonably bad assumption to make, I feel, given that sexuality isn't connected to personality  - and there's an awful lot of inquisitive and tolerant people who are resoundingly straight, gay or otherwise.

This is a pretty bold statement to make - perhaps he's only attracted to female elves.
 
People don't need a reason to not be sexually interested in everything under the sun. Solas doesn't need to be bisexual or attracted to every race just because people have the idea that he's "open-minded", or whatever.

Everyone knows BioWare hates straight men, so they could only make Solas one if he were a villain.

I didn't have an issue with him not being grounded I mean my favorite LI is anger managment Fenris >_>

To be fair, both Anders and Fenris gave off a 'could snap at any time' vibe, Merrill's mirror could have let a greater pride demon loose in the alienage, and Isabela was a big part of the qunari rampaging through the streets.

In hindsight, Anders might be biggest source of trouble, but you wouldn't know that the first time you played the game.

You know I was just thinking....It's gonna be kind of sad when they do announce the last LI cause once that happens its game over for us as far as playing the waiting game and doing all these theory and debate sessions, its one of those things where you can't wait till its over but once it is you miss it.

To be honest, on my first playthrough I thought Anders was the most morally right character of all. He didn't want to hurt anyone he didn't have to. He was a good, kind man. Unstable, but kind.

Aww *comforts* Fenris was enough waifu for me. Especially that pouncy kiss

 

If I can get as good as a romance as Leliana and Fenris in DAI with my femQunari I'm good.

 

Merrill...I am fine with her but her romance scene makes me cringe. Maybe its the VA direction. *shrug*

I'd be fine with that so long as they don't try to betray the Inquisitor...  I don't think that would make them hotter in my eyes though... it would depend on how the story played out.

Ehh I can't blame Merrill as it turns out all the consequences for her people is by their own lack of trust. Like seriously she doesn't mess up (except the fade but, everyone messes up there so no big deal).
