Women of all species are hot! Except Broodmothers. That's... too far even for me. Although the motorboating potential is through the roof...
No no no! We don't need that mental image! Get back to the Solas thread right now! *points*

Well, Ajna, if you really want me to come over and traumatize the Solassians...
Ok.

I'm sorry about that and I say this as someone who's never had interest in Solas as a romance. I'm sure his friendship arc is going to be amazing though. Here's hoping we're allowed to have a father figure/son, mentor/student relationship with him.
See I always figured it'd be:
Inquisitor/Tour Guide Through Hell kinda relationship.
I hope there are no more gender exclusive love interests.
I hope there are no more straight LIs, but I don't see a problem with an extra gay/lesbian one. Especially Blackwall as gay, since straight women already have an exclusive. In a way, it would make things more balanced, since then they wouldn't have twice as many options as others.
I'm never against bisexual options, though. It definitely wouldn't bother me if either were bi.

An extra homosexual romance would be nice to balance Solas out. I'm all for it.

I kinda like having some love interests who are gender exclusive. Trust me, I understand why some of you don't like that at all. I'm a weird one because I'm gender fluid. (Not that being gender fluid is actually weird. It's just not something most people are.) Anyway, I can imagine myself roleplaying a character of any gender or sexuality.
To be honest, I'm absolutely thrilled that one of my two options isn't an elf in this game. I find elves to be the least interesting and least attractive of the races, so I was getting a little sick of always having elves make up the bulk of my options (2/3 of my options have been elves and the other 1 was Anders......). I think it's awesome that we're getting a human and a qunari this time around. It just goes to show that they can't ever please everyone all the time.
I can relate to what you're saying, but the situation played out kind of like I was worried about when people were saying there should be a straight elf. Sure, they did it. And we got nothing to replace it with. Instead of getting a bisexual elf, we're just getting nothing in that slot. So, it's overall just another loss for us.

I would like it more if it didn't mean I got screwed over 100% of the time it happens.

I'm almost certain they aren't though. Sera and Droian's sexualities were big talk and are breaking the mould. Considering that they were both given such a big reveal (A television broadcast and it's own blog post, respectively) months ago when the characters were first announced I can't image that either Vivienne or Blackwall would also be homosexual, and given no special reveal or mention before release.
Don't worry guys, viv isn't going to be race gated.
She's going to be class-gated, so that only mages can romance her.

that's why I prefer the remaining LI to be homosexual. If it was a bisexual Blackwall, straight women would have twice as many options than lesbians. If it's a bisexual Vivienne, all sexualities have three options, except gay men. If the remaining LI is homosexual however, two groups (one majority/one minority) will have three LI's and the other two groups (one majority/one minority) two LI's. Sounds not as unfair as the other outcomes with the remaining LI being bisexual.
How do you like to play?
I play as a gay male. We've always been the lowest priority. Less options across Bioware's history than any other demographic.
Most likely going to be Vivienne as the last LI. I was a little disappointed about Solas, but that just means I have a reason to play as an Elf my second time around.

Excellent point... with that in mind, I'm thinking bi is probably the way things will go for either of them. Maybe straight...
I know that's not ideal, but it's possible...
We had two: Fenris and Zevran.
and well... i won't be able to romance one of them.. Solas or Sera...
Both are for female players :/ And don't tell me to create a female character.
I can't. Feels uncomfortable.
Elf-less game this time. It's a shame.
if it wasn't for extra content i would cancle my pre order.
Personally, the bolded is what I consider a shame. As a male, I still enjoy playing female characters, and they're something that I think Bioware does very well. I'm sorry you're unable to bring yourself to play that aspect of the Bioware games. Course, I still can't play a gay character, male or female, without it feeling a little weird. Only managed to complete one playthrough in DA:O, and none in DA2. Each of us has our own barriers.
As far as elves go, I'm just glad that both Solas and Sera were given orientations beyond bisexual. This is nothing against actual bisexuals, just that it was getting to be pretty overused, having every elf available for both genders.
Still angry at Bioware for not giving us a dwarf/dwarf romance, yet. I still have a Dwarf Commoner Warden who crushed on Sigrun hard. I'm expecting a good reason or no Varric romance(As in, like 'he finds Bianca' good).

It's probably going to be Vivienne as a gated, hetero option. That would be the least surprising outcome.

I personally don't like restrictions at all. So even a gay LI wouldn't be my ideal choice tbh.

I wonder why? ![]()

I think it's very likely that will be the case. They said Varric wasn't an option because he "has someone else". So, I'm going to assume he finds Bianca. It would be pretty ridiculous at this point if he went another decade just pining and never seeing or hearing from her, so I'm going to assume she will make an appearance.
But, still, I'm really sorry for everyone that was hoping for Varric and finally a dwarf LI. ![]()

Human male only Vivienne does seem like the most likely outcome.
Though it is odd to leave her LI reveal to last since she was one of the first three companions to be announced. Unless her romance path was only added after the year extension (which would make sense, as two of the LI's presumably were).
I'm cool with gender restrictions. As much as I wanted Solas to be romanceable by a male Inquisitor, in the end, other orientations exist. Their inclusion of Sera and Dorian was a pleasant surprise. Also, bisexual for convenience isn't good representation either.
