Sure I definitely want more choices and different outcomes for the ending in DA:I than DA:II but I really don't want Bioware to make an Epilogue Slideshow at the end again

anyone else agree that they are unnecessary? I mean we don't need everything spilled out (reading stuff like the Dwarf who opened a chantry in Orzammar got killed is just not needed)

The Epiogue Slides in Origins and Awakening almost seem like fanfiction (in the way they are written) also most of it doesn't even come true

Maybe make a post coronation again where you can talk to companions and other important people and they tell you what they will do but thats about it

I enjoyed the slideshows, It meant we saw a lot of outcomes for even some of our smaller choices.

I completely disagree with everything you said. (no offense,I just like the epilogue slideshow and don't think they're written like fanfiction  :) )

Dafuq, I loved the epilogue, fail to see how anyone can consider getting interesting information as a negative...

I thought the epilogue slides gave great info about the consequences of your choices.

Isn't that what everybody has been asked Bioware about this entire time? That are choices matter?

I hope we get the best ending possible with as much information (of value) as possible.  If the best way is slides with text then so be it.  I would actually prefer that then the odd picture slide show that ME3 got in the extended cut.

Over all I just would like the ending to not feel like a rushed lets get it over in five minutes or less so we can show 30 minutes of credits thing that so many games  are going with.   Also, no cliffhangers please.  I respect the fact that this is not the last game, and some story-lines will not be wrapped up, but over all there should be closure for the main parts of the story contained in the game.

Given the alternative is Mass Effect 3.

Yeah, slide show the hell out of me.

I loved the epilogue slides! But then a bunch of the possible outcomes were retconned so eh whatever. I'd rather not find out things if later it's gonna turn out to not be true.

I LOVE epilogue slides and I love knowing the results of my choices big and small.

If they also come with the great artwork we see on the cards, I say MOAR epilogue slides please!!!

I actually liked them. That way you saw more of your choices having an impact, while if you only get a cutscene, whatever, your view of what impact your choices had is very limited. But don't worry, I doubt they'd go back to slideshows since I think they said it's pretty outdated now. Unfortunately.

Seeing as we can apparently keep playing after the main quest is finished, the game ends when you want it to end. Not much room to fit an epilogue if there's no fixed ending.

I love the epilogue slides. Especially considering how many there were. Even just the small ones like whether you gave Kaitlyn money for the sword in Redcliffe.

Extended Cut adds a slideshow! It's one of the best things about it!

I'll always prefer full animation, I mean, I spend dozens of hours surrounded by full animation and endings are extremely important, but I know what you mean. If the alternative is pre-EC, slideshow me, Scotty, there's no intelligent closure anywhere else.

After DA2 and ME3 which just ended and left so many things unanswered, gimme a slideshow Bioware!

I like the sense of world-changing that the epilogue slides provide, so I'd like to see them again.

Honestly, I think a decent number of the "there were no real choices!" comments about DA2 could have been avoided if they'd been included in that game as well.

wow I didn't know so many people liked the Slides ...

I'm all for choices mattering but Epilogue Slides seem like a cheap way of doing that

I also didn't like how they came in the way of my own imaginations and dictated the fates of the companions and other people

I suppose I just like some things to be left often to interpretation

Hmm, a narrated epilogue like the keep after completing the story would be ideal.

I'll agree to this, actually. A lot of DAO and DAA choices are made meta-gaming around the slide you'll get in the ending, rather than what your character would actually have done in that circumstance There are people who won't take chances making alternative choices, just because of the slide it would give them. There are people who come new into the franchise for the very first time already spoiling themselves for all the possible endings just to make sure they can meta-game their playthrough into the best slideshow outcome. Those pre-determined endings take a lot of player agency away by making you follow path X if you want slide Y.

Id rather they had like a cutscene thing but how would that work when we have end game?

I am admittedly kind of worried about how being able to play after the end of the campaign may negatively impact the ability to impart a sense of finality about the campaign itself. I hope it feels like a right-good ending. I wasn't especially satisfied with how abrupt and short DA2's last moments were. I don't anticipate it'll be at that level again, but of the BioWare games I've played, I've definitely found Origins to possess the best degree of closure; I love Mass Effect to pieces, but none of them really do it very well. I know most people don't think about 1 and 2 in this regard because it's a three-act play, but I still would have preferred a bit more meat on those denouements.

ME2 allows for post-story continuation, which actually worked to incorporate DLCs (arguably) best played following the end of the vanilla narrative. I'm hoping for something more involved than ME2 epilogue-wise, though, considering the Dragon Age games are designed to stand alone more, unless that philosophy has changed. I suppose DA2's ending (and really, the entire game) kind of showed us that it wasn't necessarily the case any longer, but I'm hopeful Inquisition really does give us a fair amount of variety and conclusiveness this time around. I'd love to be able to say, with regard to my current hands-down favorite developer, that there are two endings I have truly loved.

What I'm fingers-crossed for is that the writers have cleverly managed to separate the necessity for companions to (probably) remain at our side at Skyhold for post-game reasons from the concept that there cannot be a satisfying degree of closure otherwise.

An epilogue can display the changes brought about the world without necessarily needing to also include lines like, "and so it was that Dorian returned to the Tevinter Imperium, armed with the knowledge and renown to, perhaps, deliver the change he so richly sought..."

We don't need that in order for things to come to a head and conclude meaningfully, nor would an epilogue sequence, be it a slideshow or, in a pipedream perfect world, fully animated, require companion-centric "points of departure" in order to feel full. There's plenty that could be said, potentially, in other aspects.

Also, it's important to remember that just because, in the above example, Dorian is ready to do whatever Dorian intends to do in this theoretical scenario, that doesn't mean he has to up and leave "just yet." The insinuation that he's ready to move on could well be good enough.
