even if i want to test MP first i know that i must play the campaign mode first just in case DAI turns into bullshit like DA2, otherwise i would regret that i've lost money in something i just enjoy in MP mode

Of course. If ME3 was any indication, probably a ratio of 10:1 in terms of SP hours and MP hours respectively.

Also, I've got COD:AW and Destiny on preorder. So it looks like DA:I's MP has a lot of competition.

I'll hit the multiplayer after I've played through the single player or when I have met all the enemy groups in the game. I'd rather encounter them in the single player for the first time. I can get a bit OCD when it comes to avoiding even the smallest of things being spoiled in games that I'm hyped over the moon about. I'd also like to get the basic mechanics of the game down to limit how terrible I'll probably be in the mp.

Pfft, obviously, I come here for good SP, good MP is just a (very nice) bonus.

 

I will at least touch the MP a bit while I'm playing the SP, but I think I'll hold off on actually playing frequently till I finish the main story.

I'm too used to the general sarcasm prevailing in the ME3MP forum. I think I'll title my next thread "Dragon Age 4 should be an MMO" and see what happens.

most definitely.  funny thing is when ME3 was released, I got so into the MP aspect (with the released demo), that when I finally got the game I had to force myself to go play SP.  I enjoyed ME3MP that much, and hoping for similar coolness in DAMP.

 

that said, I am also really looking forward to the SP game.  so much to see and do, and being a completionist will take me a while.

I know this is a joke thread, but MP is actually insanely fun. SP is the highlight of any Bioware game for me. Love stories, love exploring, love characters, and I love strategy! That said, I got through (almost) 4 zones of a MP map at PaX and as someone who is generally meh about MP, this was a LOT of fun. Keeps the strategy elements and characters!

I figure I would be going with the singleplayer, then jump in for the first challenge when I can.  Should be fun.

Of course I will play the SP.  However, if this is as addictive as ME3's MP, then I will wind up still playing the MP long after I've finished the single player campaign.  In the past, I always beat a Dragon Age game with a Mage, Warrior, and then Thief.  I might not replay the SP as many times this time around due to the MP.
