Just a thought... The one thing that I find genuinely enjoyable in Destiny are Raids (a complex mission with a six-person fireteam where working together is essential to progress). I'd love to see some co-op missions like those in a Mass Effect game.

I had high hopes for Destiny... Now I no longer play it. That game has disappointed me greatly.  :(

I've got quite a few friends who still enjoy it though.

Did this really need to be bumped? The games are not comparable in any way apart from the fact that they take place in space.

Any two games taking place in space being played at the same time... are racing!!!

For what it's worth, I enjoy both games equally. It's just that a third-person action RPG can't be reasonably compared to a first-person pseudo MMO. BioWare could take cues from Bungie's art direction, co-op experience, and general "feel" of the gunplay; and as bizarre as this sounds, Bungie could learn a thing or two about writing from BioWare. The lore for Destiny is there, it's just not translated in-game. Oh, and as repetitive as it is, the end-game content for Destiny (namely Raids) is more fun than just about anything that I've done in Mass Effect since I beat 2 on Insanity for the first time.

Are you okay? This post doesn't make any sense. Maybe you should lie down.

I learned from a boatwright when I was a kid that any two sailboats on the same body of water, facing the same direction at the same time are racing. I figured it must apply to video games, as well!

I played the Destiny beta with a couple friends. After we hit the then-current level cap of 8, one of my friends asked "So is that a basic summary of the game? I don't think I'll get it if it's only as deep as this was". I told him "It's a beta, they never show off their best hand until the full release".

I was wrong. Dead wrong.

There's no variety in any of the PvE content aside from environments and what the enemies look like. Upgrading your weapons (back when I played) was completely terrible, and you could spend an hour on a Strike or in any other activity and get f**k all to show for your effort. It was worse in (the terribly unbalanced) PvP. You could carry the team practically by yourself, only to win nothing while the guy in last place with no kills and 30 deaths wins a purple gun.

Terrible loot system, terrible storytelling, terrible mission design, no social features in a socially-based game... That game baffles me, and I often wonder how Bungie actually got away with making such a product and charging actual money for it.

Destiny is shallow but I admire the near perfect technical execution. Unlike Bioware games that are buggy and remain so years later.

Ah, Destiny. Another overhyped "omg next-gen lol" game of 2014.

Compared to some games out there Bioware games are nearly flawless. Yes, I'm looking at you, Skyrim.

I heard Destiny is pretty bugged, too. And the devs spend their time not with fixing actual bugs but with stoping players from working around the endless grind to level up weapons and gear.

Actually, Destiny is ridden with bugs. Especially Raids. The servers also tend to throw you off for no reason a lot. I definitely wouldn't call that "near perfect technical execution". Not with the supposed budget Bungie had for the game.

Heh, this is quite accurate. And when they do fix something, the community finds a workaround in a matter of hours when it comes to cheesing Raids.
