The auto aim on Destiny will line your shots up provided you get it close enough first. That is if you start off hip firing at the upper torso area and then scope aim while you're firing it will have 'locked' on to a specific areas of your enemies, if you're using the sight and the recoil is dragging your shots over the shoulder the sight will 'correct' itself and your recoil will drag your shots toward your enemies head instead. In short the game is compensating for your poorly placed shot when they happen.

Similar to ME auto aim which locks on (and was very annoying on insanity) but over the top with the auto lining of head shots.

In FPS the sights will line up wherever your gun is pointed if you're aiming at the floor you have the reticule aimed too low while you're not shooting, you'll have to practice keeping it at around enemy head height. Imagine there's a guy around every corner and think where your reticule would need to be to deal with him.

Have fun. :)

Thanks for the info!

I must thumb the sight around too much, I've never had the bugger auto aim yet. (at least not that I've noticed)

But then I do a lot of hiding and scoping and tiny little moves on the sight, and don't pull a trigger until I see a head under the circle. I'm too slow and careful liing up shots.....guess that's one reason why I suck so badly at PvP against all the run-at-you-and-shoot types.....I just don't have the control to do that.

@jaulen Use a shotgun to run/jump and gun if your having trouble and rely on the radar, just don't camp in corners better players will bomb you with grenades and do you over.

Also I just noticed destiny stole the blue suns logo to put in their game can't post pics bioware still haven't told me why not but that's irrelevant.

They are different for sure.  I will keep on playing Destiny for a while, until DAI, and of course the next ME.

The Destiny thread in the off-topic section shows 300 deaths for a successful end-game raid. I wonder what players would do with a challenge of that level at the end of Mass Effect game?

>.<

'Cuz I would set the difficulty level to "Casual".

Finished the story missions, level cap at 20. Now to do stuff to get 'light and strange coins'

really disliking the multiple currency types....but I guess it's a way to keep people grinding for things until the next story mission drops.

Playing through, still no epic feeling, it was kind of like a prologue.

Here's to hoping they actually take their nacent story somewhere.......'cause I'm going to get bored fast of just grinding and doing strikes/raids over and over again.

Did anyone else get a legendary engram at the end and then have it decoded and it wasn't even for your character?

Got a legendary armor engram and it was a helmet for a Warlock *sigh* I'm a Hunter silly game.......FIRST ever piece of equipment that I got from a drop or an engram that my character couldn't use......I am kind of annoyed about that.

@legendaryengram

I am art direction without humanity. I am plot without characters. I am exposition without interaction. I am a rare level 12 helmet.

Destiny will be just like Titanfall.  A watered down bare bones game they get a lot of people hyped out that they can actually get to buy into it and then a month from now it will be stale and you will never hear about it again.

Titanfall is still popular and people talked about a lot it for 2-3 months post-release. So that's untrue.

Didn't played the game myself, so I can't refute nor confirm your statement on game quality. though.

Clever bastards. No doubt they did that so you could replay as a Warlock and do it all over again just to get that helmet.

I found Titanfall has better legs on the consoles then on the PC, for it seems that with the PC unless its during peak hours it can take a long time to find a group.

I'm a tech noob, but.. why don't they do cross platform multiplayer?

Oh yeah, that's right, shooters on consoles still don't make sense.

No idea really. Xbox development should be close to PC, given both the console and Windows being Microsoft products. Unless Microsoft doesn't care at all about convenience of the devs and engages Sony in a pure console warfare (and losing according to the latest sales numbers) :)

No idea really.

Every time someone tries cross platform competitive MP, PC-players destroy console players. The average m/k user wipes the floor even with the best console FPS-players.

I'm talking about keyboard + mouse combination being vastly superior to a controller ;). Put PC players in games with console players and it would just be unfair.

Oh wait, that's what he said:

Controllers are vastly superior for sportgames though.

Some recent multiplayer games have different servers for PC and console players. Elder Scrolls Online is one I can name off the top of my head

Cross platform is a bad idea when one side gets the benefit of a mouse. I get blasted enough as it is in fps without adding that to it.

This might actually be Bungie's worst game.

Which isn't to say it's horrible.. it's OK. It's just not up to snuff. Especially storytelling wise.

And I've played them since they were Mac only (Marathon and the Myth series).

Just watched a vid for a mass effect easter egg in destiny you can get the Normandy as your ship (not that having a ship actually means anything in destiny.) I'd post the vid but I'm still not allowed to post anything but words and still have no idea why.

In hindsight Destiny and Mass Effect are totally different genres. Destiny is a shooter plain and simplle while Mass Effect is an action rpg.

Destiny needs to be compared to the top shooters like CoD, Battllefield and Halo. It doesn't have enough characters, loot or story to compare top action rpg's like Mass Effect, Dragon's Dogma and Diablo. Destiny is not even in the same category assomething like Borderlands because there is not enough loot.

Destiny is for people that like the rush of shooting things above all else. It might have some additional bells and whistles along with some really nice graphics but still its nothing more than a shooter in the end. Now that's ok but it's not enough to keep me interested long term.

I bought Destiny on XB1 but I've already gone back to ME mp because it simply has more depth to the gamepay, character/loadout buillding.

Yeah, you knooow, I got Destiny for free with my XOne purchase. And...it was fun. It was. I've met sum cool strangers that I can't really talk to, but I've danced with them. lol! And you can sit down and stuff like that.

Uh, um, the graphics and planets are friggin' stunning. Just gorgeous, but I fully expect the next Me to have that lvl of graphic quality. Hopefully though, these areas in ME will be larger and alive. The combat is fun and pretty tight.

Yet, amazingly enough I feel confined in a way. The Tower is nice, but that's the only place. I do like it. It's kinda meandering and has lil places to go in it, but..not really at the same time.

It woulda been cool if they had done a meaty SP version with the PvP MP, etc, on the side. It woulda been kick azz if they had worked in a good SP story; npc's and had the MP. As it is however, it's all MP. It's fun, but not something that sparks any passion in me. I'm just one of those ppl that while I love good combat, I need more than that to keep me interested in a game. And at the higher lvls, post 20 lvl, or so, they don't have matchmaking. You have to already have a team together. That blows.

I've already traded it back in..lol! shrugs...it was free.

From a pure creative and story perspective, Destiny is dwarfed in comparison to the genius that is Mass Effect. Whether we talk about First Contact, the Mass Relays, the Reapers, etc., there is so much depth, complexity, and life in the Mass Effect universe, it's absolutely incredible. Destiny, on the other hand, is just a cheap Halo knockoff with a terrible main story, recycled game play mechanics, and an uninspiring premise to back it. An artifact called the Traveler is discovered, grants humanity a golden age, and then a threat known as the Darkness comes and unravels everything? Seriously? Did Bungie pay a five year old to come up with that?

What Destiny should have done is completely removed a single player campaign, as Bungie has never been good at telling a story (besides Halo: CE). They can keep the Crucible, but make it a side task, and should have made the major focus on large, persistent battles, somewhat like Planetside 2. They also should completely throw out the idea of Strikes as they are just cheap knockoffs of raids in the typical cookie cutter MMO. Alas, Destiny is more of a culmination of ripping off other games and lacking all creativity rather than any major innovation in the industry. Mass Effect was the polar opposite.

Destiny will do well for now largely because it is over-hyped and the fact that Bungie made it. The same thing happens when Rockstar releases a new GTA or Irrational Games makes another Bioshock. Seldom is the game actually that great in comparison to their previous works, but the hype and anticipation around the products is so ridiculous that they sell well regardless. Bungie hasn't made a good game since Halo 2 (besides the single player which was terrible). Rockstar hasn't made a good game since Red Dead Redemption *which wasn't made by Rockstar North, who makes GTA* (GTA is so overrated and rarely warrants the attention). Many would argue Irrational Games hasn't made a good game since System Shock 2. Going bigger isn't always better.

I digress. Bungie is not even a factor anymore. Mass Effect, on the other hand, can only get bigger and better, at least the first part is true for the next one.

I really feel like I owe Bioware an apology for ragging on the ending after playing through the Destiny campaign. Shows us that we were given a spectacular, well thought out, deeply involving journey to a wonderful world that would have otherwise not existed and we took it for granted. Then attacked the company over the last 10 minutes of the trilogy, even if it was justified ATT. After my experience with destiny I think I will appreciate my mass effect play throughs a whole lot more than I did we're the lucky ones really, a great game, fantastic lore, wonderful characters and a believable experience with none of the PVP fanboy elements to offset them.

I miss that fresh Mass Effect feeling :( and now I cant wait to get ME4. It might actually be the first game I pre-order thank Bungie for that one Bioware they opened my eyes.

The original halo series (Halo: CE to Halo: Reach) outside of multiplayer is still fantastic on legendary (settings) to this day. It stands up well against modern FPS titles because Bungie at the time cared about their players, the series, the genre and their legacy while shooters continue to devolve into this gray - brown slurry. Halo: Collection is proof of that.

Now that legacy is in complete ruins. What a terrible first impression for newcomers particularly PS4 players... who in their right mind wants to play Destiny for next TEN years[?] - kill me now. More like 2 months before the servers are completely dead and given that it will soon be an unpleasant memory in the minds of gamers the next title will surely bomb hard during any holiday season when the competition is finally out of the gate because it's already below par. If there is any justice I hope Destiny 2 gives sales analysts a bloody nose. They could still turn things around but given what they have at this point they might as well be starting from scratch. Destiny is half-finished at best and at worst they are holding back all of the best content for paid DLC which is a dumb strategy at this point in the franchise which will backfire spectacularly.

Even the multiplayer is a disaster because it completely disincentivizes skilled players. Comparing Destiny to Halo is insulting to gaming. I once said Destiny was 'safe' but 'superficial' is more appropriate - it superficially resembles a lot of games in place of it's own identity. If Halo was gaming's answer to star wars in terms of cultural impact, Destiny is either Episode I or the Crystal Skull because it's that lazy and borderline amateurish by comparison. Like Lucasfilm they fired everyone at the company with vision and left behind greedy cluelessly inept leadership merely getting by on brand recognition and chasing popular trends without any understanding of what made those other games (even their own) successful in the first place. Husk of a company makes husk of a game - unsurprising really. Bungie fans feel crushed and rightly so. I hope BioWare and the rest of the industry learn the correct lessons from this debacle which is unlikely given that Destiny made back it's money in days.

Destiny is like Halo without the story. LOL.  Great shooting mechanics, but Mass Effect fans will find Destiny to be hollow.
