NOW im in a panick, 2 months to DA:I and this problem that has been around since forever and day, may impact my world building and enjoyment of DA:I ..... Please someone help me fix this, i have several heroes/playthrus in DAO alone that i want to upload, so that when The keep runs it detects them, I don't want to wait to the last minute and find out im only getting half the enjoyment i can out of the game. I am begging someone at BioWare to look into this, i have every option for uploading my character to origins turned on, turned on, no firewall is blocking any ports, I don't know what else to do, my achievements are still be uploaded, the game is taking its own screenshots and asking if i want to upload them.. what else could it be? not to mention when i go the profile page, unless i stop the page from loading and reload it, nothing comes up.
Can't get my heroes uploaded to my profile, have looked at everything.

If you are starting the game with a console-enabled shortcut, nothing will upload. (Don't know why, it just... won't.)
I get a blank white page when I first access my DAO player profile, but when I refresh the page (F5, or CTRL + F5, when I'm feeling cranky), it displays properly. (Again, don't know why... it was even like that before they transitioned over to new!BSN.)
And the player profiles are updating at an appallingly slow pace these days. I uploaded some DAO characters to my profile two weeks ago, and while they displayed immediately in the 'profile diagnostics' section, the characters just showed up on the profile page proper on a few days ago.

I thought you just put all details into the keep. Now I'm worried too . . .

You do, people are just assuming too much about this "upload" thing, all you get is a named placeholder. You have to fill in the actual details in the Keep.

I wonder if this whole BSN upload to the Keep is how the devs plan to create our Wardens/Hawkes in DAI? Just a thought.
My biggest issue with the Keep uploading characters from BSN (besides it taking forever to sync) is that I have two different BSN accounts (one for the PS3 and one for the PC). It wasn't something I intentionally did, but it just sort of worked out that way. My ideal scenario would be if I could somehow "link" the two and upload both to the Keep, so I can have all of my characters.

This might be the problem, i do have -enableconsole on my through steam. maybe if i remove that, i can get this problem resolved. Okay i removed the -enabledeveloperconsole command from the command line under the shortcuts, and from steam launcher. i hope this works, yet im still able to access the console command even though i removed that tag? i am use the make console command visible mod though too.

I'm not a Steam user, so your situation may differ, but I have two shortcuts for starting DAO. One is the normal shortcut created at installation. The other is a duplicate 'console enabled' shortcut, with the necessary suffix to the path. For me, they co-exist peacefully. (And AFAIK, the console will not work without that shortcut suffix.)
The 'console commands visible' mod shouldn't have any deleterious affect character uploads... It's just a font file.

Okay, I think I might have cracked the "code" that is getting your characters to upload to the BSN. I actually just got two characters to upload to my BSN within an hour by doing this, so maybe it will help others.
1) Login to your BSN and stay logged in when you go into your game.
2) Start your game. Before you load up a character, sign out of the DA servers in your main menu and then sign back in. It seems to help refresh things.
3) Load the character you want to upload to the BSN.
4) Change your character's equipment in some way (I changed my armor).
5) Save your game with a new save.
6) Exit the game, go to your BSN account, refresh it, and check the "Profile Diagnostics" section of your "Player Profiles." You should see your character in a list with four green checkmarks beside it. If your character's name and all four checkmarks show up, you're good to go. Just keep logging in, and the character with all of your stats should eventually show up.
Like I said, this worked within an hour for me for two different characters. I couldn't get anything to upload until I followed this method. Hope it helps!

Console messes things up for some players and not others. My sister's had it enabled forever with the same mods I have plus some, and no problem. i got my own account late (only 1 1/2 years ago) and have never been able to upload a single character, even before i enabled the console and installed the shortcut. I've come to accept that whatever happens, happens. The worst-case scenario is that all my wardens will have their generic names and appearances and I'll have to pick their decisions one by one. I don't like it, but if that's what happens, so be it.

I just tested the character updater and it is working. I played darkspawn chronicles and Rose of eternity while signed into the servers and both characters uploaded for me. (no portrait for Ranon @ Rose of eternity) because there is none.

it does work, but it's a bit hit and miss with what it will upload and who it works for

@Kantr: That seems to be the case. I'm having no problems with my characters uploading and/or updating. The "Character," "Spells & Talents," and "Skills" sections are all incredibly accurate, but the "Story" section is less so. For example, my current character put Alistair on the throne and married him. Yet, the "Story" section shows her both putting him on the throne and letting Anora execute him. It's bizarre.

I thought i had issues with the upload process for the longest time. Then the other day i was just tinkering around the site and exploring my origins profiles. When i clicked on the profile diagnostic button (i think), i discovered my two most recent characters had appeared. It seems that i had too many characters, hence why they werent appearing on the main page. So, i deleted a few, went back to the main page and EUREKA! They had uploaded. I now (currently anyway) have no character upload issues. Hope this helps somehow

i think its because im using steam since i bought DAO ultimate edition for PC through them. Its the only other explanation i can think of, but i don't know what to do about it.

I've noticed something else strange about the BSN upload. For me, Origins, Awakening, and GoA all uploaded everything: Character, Story (inaccurate but still there), Spells & Talents, and Skills. However, Witch Hunt only uploaded Character, Spells & Talents, and Skills. There was nothing under "Story" at all, even the inaccurate stuff. Anyone else have this problem with Witch Hunt uploads?
I used the same character for all four games/DLCs, but only had this weird issue with the Witch Hunt import. I'm trying to decide whether to delete either the GoA version or the Witch Hunt version of my latest character from my BSN (I only keep the "highest" version of each character, so I don't end up with four of each). The Witch Hunt version has slightly higher stats/kills, but the GoA version has the story info. I'm not certain which is best to keep for the Keep. ![]()

I noticed a couple of weeks ago my character suddenly appeared in my online profile - previously only my achievements were updated online, despite trying every suggestion I could find on the forums. Just for the record I had gotten to lvl 17 with that character before both the character & screenshots uploaded for the first time, and had not made any changes to the settings for well over a week (and those were all while trying to solve the problem per the suggestions on the forums), so who knows why it suddenly started. Haven't played a lot since then, so will have to do so a bit to see if the character continues to update....and then do another playthrough or two to add some variation to my selections before running through DA2 just in time to hop into DA:I in November....

Yeah, yeah, yeah - this happened to me also. I think it had something to do with syncing to cloud storage? Anyway as it's happened, I'm happy. Another of those Bioware miracles. ![]()
