Seriously, this problem has been persistent for months, but it wasn't until they announced that The Keep will indeed scan for previous heroes, that myself and many others have become panicked, because of the the aforementioned problem. I have every option for uploading story information and feedback and so on clicked, under configuration, and online options. My Firewall setting is pretty much allowing anything (low) i checked what ports it's listed as blocking, and none of them are the ones the FAQ speaks of, though i barely know anything about how that works. I don't know what else to do, the rest of the FAQ doesn't even make sense, obviously im saying the games, I saw no such thing as Upload this character at the beginning or end of character creation and even made a new character just to see if such a thing existed. If the system only uploads peoples pages who have been visited by others, then... thats crazy no one is interesting in visiting player profiles from a game over 7 years old. Give us a way to forcibly upload characters then to our profiles, or something.. i dont want to miss out because some silly server issue isn't working right or whatever.

If it helps resolve the problem i believe my digital copy of DAO Ultimate Edition, was purchased through steam, though it shows up on my origins thingy too. When i try to use things like screen capture it usually only works if i use the steam version of such things. (f12) as oppose to what the option menu says (print screen) could the fact that my DAO   UE is linked to steam be preventing me from uploading character information, still my achievements are being uploaded.

I dont see anyway around any of this but i dont want to suffer for no reason, PLEASE HELP!

It usually takes a long time for anything to be uploaded... sometimes several hours.  You may want to check back later today or tomorrow.

edit:  It also seems to only work through the old web site.  I have no idea how to access it from the new one...

edit:  Also... you seem to have 11 DAO chars and 25 DA2 chars on your profile already...

we are talking about months.. years even. I never paid any attention to it because "So what.." but now that the keep will be scanning that, and we only have 2 months, NOW it's a really big deal to me.

First of all, don't panic.  "Uploading" your characters is merely a shortcut--you can create a world state with all of their choices without the upload.  Literally the ONLY difference is that you get a marker with the portrait and name of your uploaded character.  And it's just a portrait--it doesn't even (at present) preserve the personalized appearance of your Warden or Hawke.  (Nor would that data really mean anything to the new game.)

So, having characters that don't sync to your profile properly is, at worst, a minor inconvenience.

And before anyone comes along and starts screaming "but I don't remember what my choices were!" then why are you worried?  You won't be able to tell the difference if you get it "wrong" in the Keep.  The Keep will be your new "right"--because if that decision appealed to you more, hey, you get to have it!

No those 11 are from my ps3 account which i dont use anymore and i think only one of which (I've deleted quite a few) have even ended the game (deleted most of the ones i ended it with for space reasons and reasons), but none of my PC uploads are going through or showing up. same for DA2, most of those are ps3 all of those are ps3, only 1 character sync uploaded on my pc. (a modded character who is utterly going to be deleted once i have a origins sync character to sync it with,.).

Is it just the PC files you're worried about?  The PS3 ones are there... I mean, if it's taken months and you still haven't seen any PC chars, then I don't know what to tell you.  That's not exactly my area of expertise...

edit:  (sees above post)  I see... well, I'm out of ideas, sorry.  Hope it works out for you, but keep in mind that it's mostly just a shortcut so that you don't have to answer every question in the Keep.  If the codex is any indication, most of the data will be corrupt anyway and you'll need to review it and fix some things... so the main draw would be the imported face, which may or not be relevant to DA:I, and the ability to import a name... which won't be spoken.  :P

It only adds the name, portrait, origin & achievements. The actual worldstate you will need to set yourself, just like starting from scratch

well, i think its more of our hawkes and wardens appearences that are the biggest thing.  I just went and redid 3 hawkes 1 for each class and they were uploaded immediately.  I did the same with my wardens, even earlier in the day, and they havent been uploaded (started at noon, its now 7pm).  Im not panicking, but i am a little concerned if they do not show up

Xbox 360 version isn't getting updated at all. Wish they would fix the servers so they can give players a piece of mind as we can be prepared for the Keep.

Despite Bioware listening to fan feedback I still have concerns ever since Dragon Age 2 and the Mass Effect 3 ending. Hopefully it wins back fans.

I have both games listed as registered in my profile but I cannot connect to the DA servers anymore on DAO or DA2. I cannot tell if I can see what characters have been saved. Is there was way to see on this site what has been saved?

Mine hasn't updated for a whole year now (PC) but luckily, I have an old Warden that got in before the servers stopped working that's identical to the newer one I'd want to use. Appearance and all.

So...whoo, I guess.

Oh that's such a relief! I can't upload my data for a combination of reasons (including not having access to the matching email anymore) I was afraid I'd have to either play with a default world state (NOOOOOOO!!!) or buy a gaming pc, get all three games for it, and make a new origin account and play them all again. :pinched:

Mine is very inconsistent. My most recent playthough (which I finished yesterday) has uploaded properly. My previous playthrough (finished about a year ago) has uploaded the name and level, but none of the story. My earlier ones haven't uploaded at all, except a bunch of unfinshed ones from the frist couple of weeks of me having the game before I'd settled on a character to play through (which I've deleted). I have tried going into the saves that are partially or not at all uploaded, staying in game for a while (overnight in one case), making new saves and so on, yet nothing.

DA2, on the other hand, has pretty much nothing other than, again, a coulpe of low level characters I made when I first started playing.

And yes, I have disabled console and checked that I have both uploading on and the uploader on automatic.

And yes, I do know I can recreate it in the keep. But it's still frustrating.

My canon warden and hawke never loaded even though I'm always connected to the servers. I'm just going to take screenshots of them to get a fresh idea of their looks and then just start from scratch in the keep, it sounds like fun, the art seems amazing, I really want to dabble in it before starting the game.

The only problem with mine is that the Story doesn't load but the Portrait , items , skills , ect. all do . I'm not really concerned though we still have to use the Keep for the story . I think the whole upload you character from BSN thing is just a bookmark/placeholder for reference for each of the world saves .

Yeah, can't really put it any better than this. It will be a minor inconvenience and little else. Don't fret.

Just for kicks I checked on my profiles. I do have recent updates, but they show errors with them. I am going to open up DOA tomorrow evening, access my new PC's and let it run to see if I get a clean upload. In the meantime I have deleted the errored files. Will let you know how that turns out.

I posted this on another thread, but I'll post it here to in hopes that it will help someone. I think I might have cracked the "code" that is getting your characters to upload to the BSN. I have followed this pattern multiple times over the past few days (even completely deleting characters from the BSN and getting them to re-upload as a "test"), so hopefully it will work for you guys. I've even had stats/story info update on uploaded characters that I'm currently playing. It's working. I think it's just picky. Here's my pattern:

1) Login to your BSN (the actual old website, not the game) and stay logged in when you go into your game.

2) Start your game. Before you load up a character, sign out of the DA servers in your main menu and then sign back in. It seems to help refresh things.

3) Load the character you want to upload to the BSN.

4) Change your character's armor.

5) Save your game with a new save.

6) Exit the game, go to your BSN account, refresh it, and check the "Profile Diagnostics" section of your "Player Profiles." You should see your character in a list with four green checkmarks beside it. If your character's name and all four checkmarks show up, you're good to go. Just keep checking, and the character with all of your stats should eventually show up (usually within an hour).

Like I said, this worked within an hour for me each time, and I've gotten six different characters to upload over the past few days. I couldn't get anything to upload until I followed this method. Hope it helps!

This has sort of worked for me, but not completely. One character that hadn't uploaded at all it now fully uploaded. However, a character which before had only uploaded name and level, has now also uploaded his appearance, but still no story. Guess I'll have to settle for playing around in the Keep for a while.

Still, thanks for the advice :)
