So the Keep is going to scan my profile, rather than any of the saves that I no longer have on my new computer? If so, thank the heavens I didn't want to play through everything again to make it perfect.

The Keep will scan the character profiles on BSN, but will not pull plot data. Rather, it will be pulling character data - portrait image, class, gender, race. All world state plot details will be chosen by the player via the Keep only.
See the opening post in this thread for additional details, as well as reading posts in that thread directly from BioWare employees. Brian Mills, for example, has posted in that thread and a few others to clarify this.

Where did we get confirmation on this? I watched the Q&A vid but I must have missed that part (or was it answered in a different place).
