Just got done listening to Morrigan's story about Flemeth in DAO. I have to wonder how power would a demon need to be to turn Flemeth into what she became into. Of course my eye turn to the Elder One..

Funny though. Perhaps The Elder One assumed Felemeth would be an asset in the future, but seems to be working against the Elder One. His Own Frankistien's Monster as it were.

Possibly. My mary shelly is a bit rusty lol.

But if we are going there i think my idea that the elder one is a creation of tevinter magics. I explainex it like 90 Pages ago... we've come a long way

i don't know if it would happen but since we know the forbidden ones are bazaar Demon/Spirits i wouldn't be too surprised if the Spirit/Demon that flemeth made the deal with was actually the Formless One. I am a little biased because i want that to be true. but we have no real idea what the entity it is that gives her the ability to be almost immortal.

She doesn't exactly act like a Demon or Spirit and neither did Imshael and supposedly the Forbidden Ones were the one who first taught blood magic to the Magus, so i wouldn't be too surprised if one might know the Dark Ritual.

The DR is known as a spell so i imagine its easy knowledge in so circles.

Idea: what if flemeth is a ogb but just merged with a spirit/demon. Transending mortal limits( can still die but you know) explains her aloof nature

I mean i guess you could say she is trying to get the Dark Ritual to happen so she can save her brothers. but Old Gods were always Boys so why would she be born a girl and exclusively go into girl bodies?

But then another aspect to the argument could be. Well an Old God spirit is just too powerful for a mortal body and she must put her spirit into a younger one after so many years. etc etc.

I still doubt it because i don't think the Dev's are going to make the Old Gods the Umbrella Corporation of Dragon age "they just have to show up in every game" or at least i hope to god they don't.

Agreed. Its too much.

And to answer why she uses females; women are seen as weaker so they are perceived as a non-threat and can have children so it makes it easier to make new "hosts"

Like i'm not saying its not possible for her to be a OGB and you can make a pretty strong hypothesis that she is one. i just doubt that's what the dev's are going to say she is.

The voice, the ability to be an awesome dragon, the self-belief, the mercy ("bow before your new God and be spared")... the Elder One is the ruler Thedas needs!

Monkey did you watch the Demo's that came out this week and last?

What do you think the Astrarium puzzles are about? just loot or do you think we will get some lore to go with it?

I will be incredibly (but pleasantly!) surprised if the Elder One isn't Corypheus.

agreed. To me it says DA2s dlc is more important in the long run imo than originality

Why Corypheus? That would be lame as hell. If he was as powerful as the Elder One seems to be, surely he should have been able to defeat Kirkwall street trash like Hawke and a few homies?

If that turns up to be true I still wouldn't believe it. The Writers want us to believe it's him pulling the strings, otherwise they wouldn't have made him too obvious. I still think he is just another pawn of the Elder One.

And how has he been doing this for year? he comes out calling for dumat for answers obviously showing he can't comprehend whats happening on his own. and again i doubt in 4ish years he set up the entire war just from inside a grey warden.
