true but trial/error is what gives powersI suppose that could work. But you don't make a magic hand you don't understand and provide absolutely no consequences for your empowering it without understanding.

So if you guys watched the Demo today we got a kinda small spoiler near the beginning of the game. the Inquisitor stops the breach from spreading, and that we need to gain strength so we can attempt to close it.

hold da **** up i have a ideaI'll Wager the Elder One has minions planted in the Chantry. Fantasy staple of corrupted Religious officials.
We assume that the EO has had a hand in most events right... why also the chantry they control the lyrium amd templars at one point right what if this. Is part of his plan to destroy the chantry by using not only the current wars but the chantry itself. What if he taught the chantry/seekers on how to use lyrium for anti magic as his back up plan. Templar powers are a white chantry trademark the black chantry doesnt have the same templars all the way!

we are! But i after 30 playthroughs ive grown to tolerate the ending... it was bad at first now im cool with it. And on the MT/chantry thing im more of a both sides have valid points but i hate being lorded over...unless its by a pretty redheaded girl with blue eyes and freckles... then she can lord over me all she wants lolMonkey...I thought we were friends...but, I don't know how now I know you did cringe at the thought of the endings....

As someone who always plays a Mage at every possible turn, and loves the idea of having powers beyond that of ordinary mortal men, I still have no real disagreement with the basic idea of the Circle system. I just consider it to be terribly mismanaged.
It would be irresponsible to not have a system in place for gathering Mages for training, and it's a reasonable idea to keep them all at schools where they can be properly safeguarded and the general public protected. While there are other workable systems for handling mages, not everyone is in a situation where such a system would work. And many of those other cultures forbid non-mages from the leadership positions. The Keeper always has to be a Mage among the Dalish.
So, I generally consider myself both Pro-Mage and Pro-Templar, I want competent Templars who understand their duties and don't overreach. I want Mages who actually understand that the Circles exist for very good reasons and in many cases their lives aren't really that bad compared to all of the random peasants that make up the bulk of the population.

isolationist by nature politically magi and non-magi rarly get along so i say just shove us on a reasonable sized island with a fair amount of templars and leave it at thatAs someone who always plays a Mage at every possible turn, and loves the idea of having powers beyond that of ordinary mortal men, I still have no real disagreement with the basic idea of the Circle system. I don't think Venatori are in the Orlesian chantry, maybe the Imperial chantry but it seems they denounce you because of the Woman you met and that the divine isn't there any longer who was pro Inquisition.

I think they denounce you because they think you're the one responsible, and it's probably your choice to either convince them you're genuine or tell them to **** off.

According to the demo, pretty much yeah. Even though the Inquisitor stops the breach from spreading, the Chantry thinks that it was his/her fault. They hate the Inquisitor being called the "Herald of Andraste," especially if you are an elf. Apparently, most people believe that the female entity who saves you in the fade is Andraste, hence the title.

Do they hate you, or are they justifiably suspicious that you may have set up the whole thing yourself so you would be seen as their savior?
Not like we don't have our own prophecies of people specially marked who will be seen as saviors...

I don't think it is just because they think you are the one responsible (although this might be true for some). But also because since the formation of the Chantry they have been the sole arbiture for interpreting the Words of Andraste/the Makers will. At least in Southern Thedas. Now here is someone who ppl believe is the Herald of Andraste and this threatens their power. The Chantry higher ups (or as I like to call them old biddies in funny hats) likely fear that they will lose that power. They don't control you or the inquisition therefore what they can't control they try to marginalize, hence calling you a heretic.

In the demo, on of the advisors state one of their reasons for their hatred towards you is that they think the breach was your doing as one of the many reasons they detest the Inquisition, and the Inquisior specifically.

Well, I was more just jokingly pointing out that a guy with "The Mark" claiming to be the savior and leading an organization with a prominent all-seeing eye symbol is the sort of thing that would instantly attract the attention of conspiracy theorists every where in the real world. Especially since your working with the obviously reptilian Cassandra.
