I wouldn't say the elven gods had any clear moral paths. They're mostly concerned with stewardship and teaching how to harness the earth. God of crafts, Goddess of the Hearth, Goddess of the Hunt. They taught primitive people how to make rope, build fires, hunt appropriately, etc.. They never were all seeing/all powerful beings who controlled every aspect of behavior.

i was being comparative but i agree with that assesment my friend

And we know that they could turn others into gods. Ghilan'nain the Mother of Halla was a mortal elf and she was blinded and bound and left to die in the middle of the forest but Adruil saved her by turning her into the first Halla and then becoming a Creator.

Even if they are harsh gods they are much more the gods of the people, but we don't know much of what the Forgotten Ones would do to the people but the Creators warred with them because of it.

Yeah, interesting.. she was turned into a god. I suppose her role ends up being "goddess of navigation", of finding your path in the world. Slightly different role than the others, but not exactly a moral one.

My real question is when and where does Fen'Harel come from. of the legend only Elgar'nan and Mythal were born from the land and sea, while the rest of the creators were their children. So was Fen'Harel their child? he is said to be a Creator but the Forgotten Ones saw him as kin

And i know they were Forgotten but where did the Forgotten Ones come from too. there home was the Abyss, so were they born or spawned there?

But back to the Point was Fen'Harel a mortal like Ghilan'nain and turned into a god? if he was born From the All father and mother why did he betray them? the legends says "And Fen'Harel sealed them away so they could never again walk among the people."

I think Fen'Harel might be as old as Elgar'nan and Mythal. And the forgotten ones. Not one of the children like Andruil and June.

It's also possible that even the Maker somehow exists in this scheme. Just beyond any of them.

..but it's still a mystery. I don't know if Bioware will ever tell us about any of this. Maybe they like it that way.

he could be one of the old gods that was awakened in the deep roads but not from the darkspawn cause if you think about it the dragon gods where the only ones who would want revenge from being kicked out of the golden city there is only two old gods left so it could be possible it is one of them cause would know if the maker was real or not

Might have been suggested already, but I think he's another one of the magisters that tried to enter the golden city. Like Corypheus, but maybe he was the leader? It can explain his god complex. Maybe he wanted to enter the city to become a new god. I don't think it ended the way he expected. Or......maybe it did? *Equips tinfoil hat* Maybe he knew he would get corrupted? Maybe he knew the old gods would too? Maybe he knew he could transfer his tainted soul to the body of a dead Archdemon after a warden absorbed its soul? Maybe..........his name is Bob?!?!

I don't think we are going to have a main villain with too much connection to the golden city since david gaider said he will never confirm or deny the existance of the Maker. at best i can see more stuff like Corypheus when he is confused and said the city was always black. that may or may not be true and doesn't confirm or deny his existence.

So i think we are going to have a villain or events that just make us question our faith but not show it to be true or untrue.

Well the Tevinter once believed in a god known plainly as the Creator and later worshiped the Old Gods after the First Magister to speak to Dumat made that their religion. so most likely they killed all the priest who were preaching anything else. so there is a chance they are the same entity, and the Chantry does use the Sun as its flag and the Sun is the father of Elgar'nan. so it is possible the sun the Elven Legend speaks of is the Maker who first created spirits and demons. I.E Creators the first spirits, Forgotten Ones first Demons.

I am a Adrastian because of the fact she is a great woman and wanted to unite thedas in peace. and freed the slaves and gave the Elves a place to call home, and laid teh seeds for 3 great nations. Human or Elven i respect her character for that.

Also i believe if those 3 nations united into one empire they would be able to stop almost any threat to appear in thedas.

But i believe the Creators and Forgotten ones are real as well. just not exactly like the Elves believed.

Well, it's metaphor... I think.

Although I wonder if Elgar'nan actually did win that battle. And that's why the Maker is gone. Or maybe it's just a wish on Elgar'nan's part, and never really happened. Since Andraste came back and said the Maker still exists.

Well in the legend Mythal stopped him and she created the moon on the first night of its release to be a pale imitation to light up the sky when the sun is gone.

Heh. Didn't I already make such a group?

I know too many spoilers. Makes a lot of this discussion seem obviously misdirected, with debate over some things that I do know for certain.

Of course, there's always the possibility that the Elder One is secretly an abomination by the time of Inquisition... There's some evidence that it may be the case.

I'd be surprised if we can. We've never had choices that wide reaching where you destroy entire factions.

Except, in Mass Effect.. but only because it was the end of timeline and they wanted to destroy their game franchise.

For some reason the story is reminding me of Harry Potter, with the Inquisitor starring as "The Boy who Lived".
