I believe Gaider said they are unrelated. since the Abyssal Rift came from a blight. but maybe it is related. who knows.

Misreading, what I meant to say is that just because the Shadow figure is shown while the EO dialog is voiced over, doesn't mean it's the EO, after all we have seen a Shadow figure before which was Malcome Hawke.

 

The Shadow figure in the hero trailer could just be a bunch of memories from someone else as we have seen before.

all i really hope from the plot of dragon age is they stress me out and make me think the story is going one way and then completely changes that. 

 

Like Bioshock Infinite. I loved the fact i picked the game up acting like i knew how this story was going to go, but completely switches it up on me. I'm not talking about plot twists, just how the plot changes but still able to be a linear story.

I just wrote a long post about my feelings about the leaked news about the EO, but really it doesn't matter. if they really make the EO the Blank the leaks are about i am going to be extremely disappointed with the lack of creativity but nothing i can do about that. I just hope they pull a FF6 or Bioshock where i think the story is heading one way, and bam, didn't see that coming.

 

Also the spoilery stuff im talking about is the stuff from the artbook, the leaked achievements(may or may not be true) the recent news about something getting missed in a trailer. and stuff here and there.

I too have seen the leaked achievements and hope that the entity to whom you are referring is also false. It wouldn't make sense and would be an incredibly lazy cop out.

Like it would be awesome to learn the things this BLANK knows but as a main villain would just be a such a lame choice unless at some point during the story it pulls a 180. Like it would be such a simplistic choice, like for a villain it would just be boring.

This Blank was already poorly presented and poorly implemented and the lore surrounding it is pretty one sided, until the events of the taint took place after it came, which as it seems will have nothing to do with the plot, since we haven't seen any thing that looks like taint in the game. so unless we really are going to learn that the old gods are in fact the forgotten ones. i don't know what Blank can provide since he is a bland character model and wouldn't explain why he would want to cause the breach or how he was orchestrating things while he was in a slumber, or why he was speaking to Felassan, if they do make Blank the EO than they went for the easiest route, and i can't see anyway they are going to make it deep and actually intriguing, Blank is just going to be the same Villain trope we have seen countless times, RAWR I'M SO EVIL, RAWR I'M MAD AT PEOPLE, RAWR I THINK I'M BETTER THAN EVERYONE. AND RAWR MOST IMPORTANTLY ALL I WANT IS POWER. I can't see how they are going to make that original. seriously, they have Elven Gods, Old Gods, Demon Lore, Something New. but instead they just grab cookie cutter Blank. Unless they have wonderfully written plot with wonderful supporting character, I am going to be as bored with Blank as i was with the Arishok or Meredith.

Honestly, there was only ONE achievement about a boss. Where are the other three or so we typically get? If anything, this one boss is likely a sideboss and not the main dish. Might be the dragon.

This is more a battle between near-equals for the fate of the world. He has a head start, but eventually you build your own army and tame your own dragons.

 

If they can build up his personality and make his allies interesting, as well as his interactions with them, he could end up serving as quite the excellent villain.

 

Now, which of his companions do you think the Blank is going to romance?

He doesn't have a personality he is completely bland, so unless they pull a 180 and somehow make him relateable (which also would make his character worst) I don't see how he is going to be anything but a copy of villains like voldermolt, who wasn't that great or original of a villain and was only good because of the things around him, and got very tiring the more you saw of him, seriously this is supposed to be a epic and so they give us a rival like the one in pokemon, how does that make him a good villain? BioWare is known for making things grey but they go to make a Villain who can only be seen as evil as our enemy? 

 

All Urthemeil was was evil, and thankfully all we had to see was a couple scary dreams and him dead, Blank is supposed to be the Loghain of this game But loghain was grey, there is nothing more. I was hoping for a creature of chaos who we couldn't quite understand, not a bland WoW villain, we have seen the taint, we have seen Talking Blanks before. how is he a villain i'm scared of? It is a weak choice, Hell i hate the dumat theory but i would have liked that more than Blank. The reapers were evil but they weren't at the same time because they didn't see good and evil, but this is like a JRPG villain, "i know i'm evil and i'm just gonna keep doing evil." that's all we've ever heard or seen about blank. so how is that kind of villain interesting? is he a product of his time? no. Is he accepting his reality. Doesn't seem like it. Is he fooling around? Not that kind of god. It was a weak story ploy, because they needed a villain player would know and casuals wouldn't have to know too much lore to understand who he was. i'll still play the game because its probably going to be great, but ill probably just be bored with him like i would be with the Arishok.
