I'm not worried. I can believed Cory being The Elder One's Second in command. Or The Elder One is manipulating Cory. Making him think Cory is in control until he has fulfilled his purpose. Still trying to read through this whole thread, but I think/agree with anyone that thinks "The Elder One" may be Dumat. It's a bit out there, but there are a few reasons why I think so.

Yep, it's going to be like ME3. If you didn't do the DR, there will be a second Old God Child, and it will give you three options to choose from at the end.

that aside, I hope all Thedas Mythologies are all correct and wrong at the same time.

like, each religion/myth is a piece of the larger puzzle.

...The art book appears to indicate that Corypheus is the final boss of DAI. There's no explicit confirmation he's the EO, but since the EO has been presented as the threat we'll be dealing with in DAI, it seems likely. I would find that somewhat disappointing, since so far I've been under the impression that whoever did this had been planning it for a long time. and 2-7 years (depending on when Hawke went to the prison) is not a long time. Hell, even fifty years isn't. It's not a big thing in the end, but still disappointing. I've learned to expect the obvious from Bioware in these things - any kind of advance spoilerage has always been exactly what it seemed - so I'm not holding my breath for something more interesting. They might manage to make him interesting, but the published material makes him rather more stereotypical than less.

I do not believe Corypheus is the Elder One, I believe he may Herald the Elder On'es return. It is too weak a plotline and lack of creativity to make Corypheus the all powerful Elder One. I still believe it is Dumat.

I honestly do not believe bioware would do a repeat of a boss that was all to easily beaten at the end of DA2. The Elder One is something else. Dumat or not Id put money on it not being Corypheus.

As I posted in my thread here - keep in mind that the Elder one - if he was the one "tricking" Cory, may never have told Cory that he was Dumat.
Corypheus might aswell have been assuming the voice he heard was Dumat. 

(That is ofcourse if the Elder one is not Dumat himself but another being entirely)

I doubt its anyone that important. it sounds more like David Sternes version of his voice for the Rock Wraith. and that guy already voiced Cory.
