You guys I was lurking on this thread before I was even an Apostate. I'm just behind lore wise so maybe im asking the same questions.
Earlier you guys went into to details about the two Elven Gods and the like trickster guy who imprisoned them both whos methods of imprisomment
vary depending on the folklore and what have you. Those theories were also.....delicious.

So continue on, I demand more theories.

Look i have a "mini-me" a fellow lore junkie.

You want theories then you shall have them :)

I believe we talked of red lyrium and how it affected logaihn and meri yes. Now heres a new idea i have on it. Ive mentioned that its like a parasite. But what if it can not only affect organic matter but inorganic( various areas seen in gameplay and redcliff) what if long ago a piece of it escaped from below and infected something. Millenium goes by its developed a "chamelion" trait to blend in and slowly affect people. Since kirkwall was the closet and most veil thinned area it "knew" it not only "fed" off the maddeness but even more damaged the veil and through years of magic and demonic influences created the modern cesspit it is today.

When hawke explored that thaig and allowed bartrand to leave with the idol it started a chain of events that amplied all the negative emotions of the already crazed city.

Fast forward to now the lyrium idol of merideth slowly "moved" on to new host(s) and like a plague of zombies infected either lyrium resrves for templars or outright "fed" on non-templars by bodily fluids or more likely forced fed them the RL

For a real world example see:http://en.m.wikipedi...ps_unilateralis

Fen'Harel is the trickster god.

Here is his description.

In ancient times, only Fen'Harel could walk without fear among both our gods and the Forgotten Ones, for although he is kin to the gods of the People, the Forgotten Ones knew of his cunning ways and saw him as one of their own. And that is how Fen'Harel tricked them. Our gods saw him as a brother, and they trusted him when he said that they must keep to the heavens while he arranged a truce. And the Forgotten Ones trusted him also when he said he would arrange for the defeat of our gods, if only the Forgotten Ones would return to the abyss for a time. They trusted Fen'Harel, and they were all of them betrayed. And FenHarel sealed them away so they could never again walk among the People.

In my opinion, he is one of the better written legends in Dragon Age and a Villain i would love to see.

So what is up with Fen'Harel now? Since he is not locked away. What are your theories? Sorry i'm kinda new to following the lore but I love it and have a lot of little questions.

Wait so you think Red Lyrium is like sentient? Trying to move from host/host?

Fen'Harel is interesting on many levels as a villain he could be a big bad without being evil for the sake of evil, in yo face evilness.

His motives would be complicated to how you say, say the least.

yes i do. If it has been described a parasite then by logic it is "alive" to some extent. For the past 4 months ive studied parasites in general and slowly i had a epiphiny lol

I have wrote so much about him i'm just going to quote my most recent reason why i wanted him to be EO.

Spoiler

But the reason i believed he was the EO was because of this.

He has the M.O to turn people against eachother so he can get the upper hand, we know there is a mask of his which was able to rip tears in the veil. we know he can travel the dreams of people and can speak to those who aren't even mage's, he acts on there basest emotions making them do horrible things.

Felassan"There was a young noble in fair Arlathan, and it happened that the elven king lost one of his two daughters to a serpent's bite. At the ceremony to commemorate her life, the young noble saw an elven lady so fair and perfect that his heart broke--but by the laws of ancient Arlathan, he was forbidden to speak with her during the ceremony, and he did not learn who she was, so he could not ask her family to court her. The young noble prayed to the gods that he might meet the elven lady again. He prayed to Mythal for love, and Dirthamen for the secret of the elven lady's name, and to Andruil for luck in the hunt for this woman. And finally, he made an offering to Fen'Harel...and the Dread Wolf was the only one who answered. In a dream that night, he told the noble what he needed to do to see his heart's love again. Do you know what he said?" Briala"Kill the king's other daughter.

We know the EO has been working in the shadows, forcing this MT war and the Civil War in Orlais, so is it hard to believe he did the same in Ferelden to Loghain? whispering to him in his dreams, making his paranoia about Orlais take the best of him, killing his son in law and who he swore to protect, He has never been that power hungry but randomly he decides he wants to be regent? personally i don't buy it. there are other things but i don't wish to rewrite theories, long lost in this thread.

also TME just talked sooooo much about him, that i thought i had to be foreshadowing. also Merril in DA2 talked a good deal about him.

I subscribe to the idea of Red Lyrium is the physical manifestation of the Elder One's power. Like how it fed off Meredith's fear and paranoia of Mages before being consumed by it upon death. Loghain only got infected when he slept and the Elder One fed on his fears while in the Fade while he slept. His exposure to The Elder One wasn't as bad as what Meredith got. Red Lyrium is a physical manifestation of his power. So Loghain could be saved from it because he had bare minimum exposure.

Where on Thedas is the idea that Loghain was influenced by red lyrium coming from?

Not Red Lyrium. Just Elder One through the Fade while he slept. If the idea is believed that The Elder One is responsible for Loghain's extreme actions. Because let's face it. Killing your Best friend's son is insane.

Not influenced by red lyrium, influenced by the Elder One, who now uses red lyrium as a direct way to always influence the person near the red lyrium,

Lyrium is a direct connection to the fade,

Sleeping is a direct connection to the fade.

Lyrium transmit a song and magic,

Red lyrium transmit a different addictive song and magic.

So we believe the EO uses red lyrium to control, but he can speak to people in there dreams, making them act on pride, or paranoia.

oh its a OG theory created from the "minor effects" of red lyrium. All theories are welcome

its a good film imo. It tells cass's origin and how she became who she is. The only real error is a reference to kirkwall which is easily explain if one looks through kirkwall history in 9:22(which is when the film is set)

I think he would make a great antagonist from what you have said. I noticed you said you believed he was the EO... Has he been ruled out from being the EO? Do you think whoever the EO is he could be the one that killed Felassan.

all honesty its hard to say, a lot of the regulars here have talked about the info and considering the Twitch streams, the leaks, the Info, and such we have ruled out a good amount of people, it could be that BioWare is hiding the whole thing very very very well, but who knows, at this point i don't think he is the EO. i would love for him to be the big bad we never saw coming, but that's my bais.

It's decent for what it is, has a good few inaccuracies but that's what you can expect for those anime movies EA tried to pump out the door during those years.

The EO only sees us as a threat after we get the mark right? Seems in the one trailer even while we had the mark it was so

early on in the game we didnt even know who the EO is yet he wants us removed. Won't suffer even and unknowing rival blah blah blah

Is the ability to interact with the Fade/Fade rifts a threat to EO because it will directly counter his plan of spreading the tear

or do you guys think the Mark the Inquisitor gets will be in someway within itself a means to kill the EO?

will we get the jazz hand from the getgo as it seems, and me and monkey discussed this in full one time. why wouldn't he attack you out right? you have the only power to stop the breach, so why wouldn't he just kill you?

Either he doesn't see you as a threat. or rival.

He doesn't know of your existence yet.(which is unlikely.)

Or something is stopping him from full on destroying you.

but for all we know its only power is to close tears, so unless the EO is a tear that needs closing i don't know how it will hurt him.

What if the EO is a wound in the fade, like a wound in the force from starwars. But here he is a rift that has gained sentience through X being and while he has a avatar he does what ever, but his fade seal power threatens his very existance
