I have a feeling DAI is going to flip the lore table
Yeah probably, i mean the books have been really lore heavy and Last Flight is literally about a mage learning about lore of the fourth blight. XD

And rumour says griffins are still alive if so im gonna be a sore monkey
I really dont know where people are hearing those rumors. because i read the info, its just about the last flight of the griffons, not finding some more and being like totes we got new ones. and anyway if we ever find some its going to be in the Anderfalls not in Orlais.

Spoiler (idk how to use the tag)
Something about taint griffions then they start dying so a elven mage somehow cryos the eggs
Huh, weird. but again. the only possible place i could believe us seeing griffons again is in the anderfalls, because the legend says there are still some with no contact with the outside world living atop the mountains of the anderfalls.
Also you do the tag like this
replace the word shem with spoiler
(shem) merril is my favorite (/shem)

Eh.
Curent theory is that the Elder One's name is intended to be understood literally, and that the Elder One is "simply" the Fade's oldest Demon. Perhaps even one old enough that it predates the existence of the material realm.

Hopefully the eldar one is not the maker, otherwise it'll be an eyerolll worthy romp through what has become the generic way to handle religion in sci fi and fantasy, that being that the perceived good god is actually evil and now ya gotta stop it.
There's a lot of places they can go with the eldar one. Expanding on knowledge of the fade, demons, spirits, and all around have a good romp through some cthuluesque inspired horror and have a jolly good time about it.

The eldar one is a bad dream. The first bad dream ever to create a thought in the fade that took a form and has existed ever since.

That explains that creature in the EoT trailer
Here's assuming that's the eldar one at all tbh. For all we know that's what a sloth demons true form is, when its not borrowing from others. Heck, that could very well be a desire demon meeting someones very sick idea of a fetish and we gotta stomp it to the curb.
I like the eldrict horrors a bit, unless they end up just being douche done where no explanation or demonstration is given about what makes them so great and we're just suppose to believe them as being super duper scary sauce. Comes off as just annoying, like that one person everyone knows who brags about being awesome but never manages to actually prove they're good at anything.
Hoping that bioware manages to convey the eldar one as a ever-pressing, but not ever present, enemy. Like, we get a glimpse of their power throughout the game to build up an atmosphere and suspense when we finally, presumably, face off against them.

Yeah i hope we get a ton of new lore in this one, we really didn't get much in DA2, so i hope the elder one makes us go to all types of places and really brings up some new things about thedas.
Like even though i don't have the best feelings towards the dalish i would love to learn some more history of theirs. especially about fen'harel (because i think he is the elder one)

Well, you can interpret it that way, though one could also claim that it's just a very old and powerful demon. Of course, it does very much seem like it intends to make itself a God.
Hopefully the eldar one is not the maker, otherwise it'll be an eyerolll worthy romp through what has become the generic way to handle religion in sci fi and fantasy, that being that the perceived good god is actually evil and now ya gotta stop it.

That brings up one thing I noticed about his whole speech. Dwarves, Vashoth, and Dalish aren't Andrastian. Only one out of four of the playable races believe in the Maker.
I really don't think the Elder One actually is the Maker, but it's interesting that he has specifically makes a point of talking about the Maker. Even challening the Maker to strike him down. Adding to that, this Elder One's desire to be worshiped and the possibly related condemnation of "us" as a mistake that should never have existed...
For whatever reason, I just get the feeling that the Elder One doesn't disbelieve in the Maker as much as it wants to. It almost sounds like he's got something of a slight obsession with the Maker, and proving that he's more than the Maker.
The whole attempt to absorb the material world into the Fade, and calling us all "mistakes", reminds me of the whole story of creation where the Maker first made the Fade and the Spirits/Demons, and then decided they were unworthy before making the material world.
If you felt scorned in such a way, and were an arrogant Demon convinced of its own perfection, wouldn't you reject such a judgement or even spitefully attempt to prove your superiority by destroying the supposedly "better" creation and declare it to have been a mistake to claim it was ever better than you?
I suppose it's too early to tell at this point, but as it is, the Elder One's motivations for becoming a God sound suspisciously like "**** the Maker, I'm way cooler than that guy".
I suppose it doesn't matter if the Maker actually exists for this to work out, as all it takes is a powerful enough Demon to get particularly offended by the idea of him.
