I think Cory is indeed Elder One. As for Cory plans this is my theory:

I think Cory is trying to get to the black city with newfound knowledge that he needs dragon blood to become god (Aurelian Titus tells in comics that old magisters failed because they didn't have dragon blood). As for how would he be god? Well there are clear hints that he is dreamer mage who can manipulate fade around him; he can basically construct "world" around him (As we learned from Feynriel missions in DA2). However to create his world and not just manipulate space in fade around him he needs to go to black city from where he can reshape entire fade (Black City is always present wherever you are in the fade remember?). However I doubt he would want to control just the Fade so he also uses the Breach to merge the Fade with Thedas, giving him power to recreate whole world. So I guess that WOULD make him god.

There! Right there! No way Cory is the Elder One! Wouldn't be much of a mystery if they add images of him! The Elder One is either Dumat I'll wager, or something else completely.

Remember he refers to the Divine as 'the sacrifice'. Why keep her alive of all the people at the Conclave? Does she have some Dragon Blood in her veins? Or maybe he just wants another old person to talk with. It's lonely being an ancient being of evil and power.

Why is he in his old body? Didn't he hop into one of the Wardens, or does he returned after Hawke left and reinhabited his own corpse? Why he's so attached to that ruined carcass?

Archdemon's body wasn't a half-rotten corpse.

That is of possibility but I would not be surprised if Flemeth's magic only belongs to herself because she is a really special character in Thedas : very old as Morrigan says.

I might be remembering this incorrectly but wasn't the elder one referred to as a he in TME?

The elder one is a massive massive dragon that gets summoned at the end of the game, you dont win the fight against it. The elder one is an elder god. So im assuming it will be a dlc sorta deal or DA4

So if this is the case, Cory will be trying to summon the Elder One into our world. And I'm guessing he finds success in that. Then The Elder One leaves Cory to his fate at our hands and The Elder One goes into hiding to prepare for his next move which will be the next game I'm guessing.

Or maybe for the first half we deal with Cory and for the second we deal with the Elder One and things get more intense.
