I dont think he is going to have a break down. like Meredith went crazy when the templars turned on her and you saw that through the whole fight every time you moved to the next part of the fight. i think he is more than that, he will just fight to the end and he will accept nothing less. Not like gaspards honor, but Because he cannot believe in defeat. so i think his arrogance would be his downfall.

most likly he'll kill off his people cause he's a god and perceives himself infalliable

Hmmm .. I don't know, maybe he met a powerful spirit in the fade, and merged with it, allowing the spirit to exist outside the Fade, and then the spirit showed his true evil nature and .. BAM > Rift

It's just that I'm not really good at finding theories .. we don't have enough data, and my knowledge of Thedas, the Elven gods etc, is too limited.. I'm reading The Masked Empire at the moment, maybe I'll have ideas after ^^

Masked Empire is great, also you should go over to the Dragon age wiki and just read some stuff, i do it occasionally. its a good read, learning the history of thedas.

It isn't in Val Royaux, but in the token snowy landscape territory. Red Lyrium has burst through the surface and infested the land. Can't remember the name of the territory atm.
