Thank you I try my best. He is more than likely the bone dragon from the trailer. If not, he is some kind of half human monster.

I mean give me a reason why else they would be gathering slaves? They aren't going to trust them with blacksmithing. they are there only to mine lyrium, so if they have a way of course they would help red lyrium grow in lands.
Funny thing about Red Lyrium...
I don't think it comes in easily locatable chunks that can just be mined right out of the ground.
However, we have seen one way that exists to create more Red Lyrium. That's what I'll currently term the "Meredith Method". Drawing on the power of the Red Lyrium can transform you into Red Lyrium. We can also see those Red Lyrium creatures that look halfway in their transformation.
So, if the Red Templars are taking slaves to "mine" for Red Lyrium, I think that "mining" might be a euphemism for being transformed into more Lyrium.

Or, I have a even more half baked theory. The Elder One is Morrigan's father. ![]()

Nonsense.
The Elder One is obviously the Warden.

No, he's the dog. No one is that nice.

Red Lyrium is people.
they saybmagi are monsters. But thats neither here nor there *vomits*Red Lyrium is people.
Red Lyrium is people.
XD you seriously made me laugh
If red lyrium is a disease that turns people into monsters that leaves it origin unknown... earliest location is in the deep deep roads thaig. The thaig is anchient to the point of forgotten or censored almost like they were trying to hide something... i got it!!! What is the red lyrium is apart of the STONE which is a god we know little of it aside from lyrium connection and its indirect creation of rock wraiths (if we go by the legends) red lyrium was found in a primordial place and red lyrium is merely antibodies doing whatever it does for maker knows reasons
Personally i think its safe to say Dwarf religion is completely false about the world i mean they think there people are god like if they invent something, and rock wraiths are dwarfves who have been rejected by the stone. So i don't think we should think much of their mythology and just focus on history when talking about dwarves.

They don't say they're godlike, they just uphold them as Paragons of what Dwarves should be.

More than that if you read about where the history of paragons they are pretty much everyday andraste's to the dwarves. blessed by the ancestors to make the lives of the dwarves better. but still i think it's safe to say that is the one religion on thedas which is probably false.

Good genetics from their ancestors.
Also, the ancestors are obviously in the Lyrium, since Lyrium is people. That is how Dwarves return to the stone, and how Lyrium grows.
Maybe.
But who knows? Maybe Lyrium does feed on Dwarf souls.
He helped turn the Golden City black and now he wants out to take over the world, only to come out a old man at death's door. The Inquisitor was only pushed into the Fade so he could switch bodies.
According to Cryp. the Golden City was already black before they reached it.
It just looked Golden on the outside, but was black on the inside.

Or it was black exactly when he reached it, and not a moment before.

I doubt the existence of the maker and just believe in the spirits, I mean i will probably play as andrastian unless im an elf, but thats because i believe in her. i just think there are just powerful spirits in the fade like the forbidden ones, or Fen'harel, i Dont know if i believe in the creators and Forgotten one, but i do see how faith and the chantry can help the world.
I just don't think we will ever hear a definitive yes or no to his existence

Um lyrium is people? when was that confirmed? if you are trying to use Meredith as an example than you should know she was petrified not turned into Red Lyrium.

Well, I tend to believe there's some truth to a lot of the religions.
My current thoughts on the Maker is that there was some sort of force that dwelled within the Golden City and transformed the Magisters into immortal Darkspawn. Something also sent them back to Thedas.
Since the Chantry says that it was the Maker that did this, I tend to assume that the Maker does exist in some form. Or at least, the "Denizen of the Golden City" exists. Since the belief that this Denizen is the Maker is integral to the beliefs of the Chantry, and the clear evidence that a force capable of bestowing immortality, and life without need for sustenance to grow and thrive, does indeed exist in that city...
Well. I'd say that the Maker is very much a something. A very dangerous and powerful something, which has proven this by being responsible for the Darkspawn's creation. Maybe its power was corrupted in some way, but that power is still enough to twist and subvert the Old Gods into Archdemons.
If nothing else, there is something that is the Maker of the Darkspawn Taint.
That is the Maker I am reasonably certain exists.

I half joke about things all the time.

I just dont think we should take it at face value, I'm still an adrastian and will defend the chantry because i think both are good for thedas, i just dont think "the maker" exist like the chantry says, there might be a hella powerful spirit, it just isn't like how the chantry says
I half joke about things all the time.
Oh well good XD

Oh, I'm convinced that the "Denizen of the Golden City" was probably something a bit more than merely another "hella powerful spirit". The Golden City is a unique structure in the Fade, so I tend to assume that its prime inhabitant is likely to be something quite special. It might not be what the Chantry imagines or hopes it to be, but it's probably more than just a Spirit.
We know that whatever it was that exists within the City was capable of unleashing an incredibly powerful source of magic which grows without resources and can turn those it infects into immortals without need for sustenance of any kind. The Taint is truly a marvelous thing, one that I feel is beyond the talents of a Spirit.
It's something special, like the City it comes from. As such, I assume the Maker of this Taint was something just as special. Something capable of granting power and immortality like this to a large number of beings, and seeing them sustained through nothing more.

Again i dont think we are going to learn any of the maker. i doubt they are going to destroy the reality of the number one religion in this franchise.
I do wonder, If the Black City was meant to Imprison The Elder One. You think with the Fade tears will be able to meet his Jailers and help them out? That is of course he didn't destroy them all.
