Or, perhaps both pantheons exist, all distinct and separate entities?
And the Maker dislikes both of them with equal measure for leading his children astray!

while your zeal unsettles me i must say the elven pantheon being the old gods is a theory i can grow to like. Give your best fleshed out thoughts on the subjectAnd the Maker dislikes both of them with equal measure for leading his children astray!
I just find it odd that whenever the elven pantheon are suspected of being the old gods, its always the forgotten ones.
Note we don't know how many of the forgotten ones there were, but there were nine elven gods of their pantheon.
Short of there being two more if we are shooting out theories why couldn't the elven gods be the old gods? Why couldn't that be whom we were obliterating from existence after they were corrupted and cast down by the Maker.
The Creators are locked away in the golden city(eternal city) in Elven legend while the Forgotten ones are locked away in the abyss which can be interpreted as deep underground. and if you read the legend in only a literal way Fen'Harel walked with both the creators and the forgotten ones, which can mean he can travel through the veil and literally walk with both sides.
And i find it highly unlikely that Fen'Harel is an old god since he is a creator.
And i would like to mention that the forgotten one's in legend worked to hurt the Elven people. so wouldn't it be more likely that the old gods who help the Tevinter to hurt the elves were the forgotten ones and not the creators who taught the elves everything they know and guided them to the beyond?

There Is no Golden City, it was tainted and turned black by the Tevinter magisters. No one knows if it can be made golden again.
I'm not looking to argue semantics. i was merely using its titles and since we do have 1st person account saying it was already black. we can assume the legend is wrong, since first person beats hearsay. and since he said it was black when they arrived we should assumes its always been black. and the tales of it being golden are legend, or illusion.
Or, perhaps both pantheons exist, all distinct and separate entities?
That's an interesting thought. We are all pawns in the games gods and goddesses play against each other.
Btw TTTX there is a Demo on the dragon age youtube page with minimum talking and small clips of mike laidlaw talking, but not over any conversation.

According to Cryp. it was already turned back before they arrived. He was there, the Chantry was not. so it depends on who you believe more. Personally I go with the guy who actually did the deed then some religion that was centuries after it happened.

IGN also has a little exclusive extended demo from fallow mire demo

Edit: i found the silent playthrough of Fallowmire. there is just one bit of voice at the beginning that really goes for about a minute. than the rest is silent so you can hear all the dialogue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjRI_Y_d7Jk

I even agree with this and i'm an Andrastian.
most fans accept this as truth(or at least a partial). Personally im curious if cory and argueably the artcitech are the only ones. I mean there were x amount of magisters so its possible that the elder one is a magister of old. Cory was arrogant on his own now imagine a cory without memory damage but with a reverse artcitech's plan of salvationI even agree with this and i'm an Andrastian.

Then he would be tainted and i would assume more darkspawn based, but the devs have said, we will see darkspawn, but they wont be our main focus.
Here is my question on the topic of darkspawn. What dwarven settlement are we going to see? we saw it in the trailer. but the devs have said its not kal'sharok or Orzammar.
True but it does have me wonder more about the golden/black/eternal city
Tevinter thinks there is power in there
Chantry thinks their god abandoned the city
Ancient elves believed their gods are still trapped in it.

Which is where a bunch of Magisters came to if i recall and let out the taint into the waking world.
.-. So whom is to say that is all they let out?
yes but
A: what kind of power. Power can be anything
B: why would the maker/great spirit abandon his seat of power
C: why would fenharel trap his breathern just so he could "play" among mortals being the loki of DA
Power of Gods according to Cryp.
Must be something very bad, if it is the taint then I can understand if it is a spirit would leave it's unknown to them.
That way no one can spoil his fun.

I still couldn't hear it from Alexius, odd.
The Black City is like the Archdemons.
All the races have mythology about them.
But nothing is probably true.

Well the first blight happened around -390 ancient and its now 9:40 that's about 1300 years not doing anything. and in my opinion i only think he is responsible for recent conflicts im not looking to blame him for every conflict ever in Thedas. that would take away almost every characteristic of every significant person in lore if the elder one was controlling it all. and i dont even think he is responsible for everything in thedas recently just a few things.
the only things i think he set in motion was the mage templar war. the civil war in ferelden, and the civil war in orlais.

Its in the trailer. if you watch the enemy of thedas trailer Alexius voice clearly says you are a mistake. it happens when the inquisitor is running from that weird scaled dragon. not the necro dragon. the other one.

I was inferring to the elven gods, not the Elder one.

Oh. forgive me my mistake.
perhaps he's a recent manifestation(best world i could use) since a millenium is a long time to plan even for a imortalWell the first blight happened around -390 ancient and its now 9:40 that's about 1300 years not doing anything. and in my opinion i only think he is responsible for recent conflicts im not looking to blame him for every conflict ever in Thedas. that would take away almost every characteristic of every significant person in lore if the elder one was controlling it all. and i dont even think he is responsible for everything in thedas recently just a few things. the only things i think he set in motion was the mage templar war. the civil war in ferelden, and the civil war in orlais.

Yeah that I can hear, but I can't hear him say it in the gameplay demo.
