I like to think The Elder one is the Maker's evil counterpart. Basically the Satan of the DA world

Well, he claims the Maker doesn't exist so whatever he is, it's probably not something that's an evil counterpart.

It might as WELL be something like Satan, though.

It's sort of like Q from Star Trek. He's an omnipotent, omniscient alien.

No, he's not God.

But he might as well be.

In all honesty its a tad early to make guesses, but here is a question i have. Morrigan went through the Eluvians to get away from her mother's eyes, but reappeared in orlais and i doubt it was to help Celene beat Gaspard, so does she know what the Elder One is? or at least what is coming.

We know There is a Eluvian at the winter palace, so she could have easily walked out of it and right into the palace to speak with Celene and become this new adviser

This is true but dont eluvians "do" something to humans. It "likes" elves to some degree. Perhaps these are also connected since they have at least 4 appearances
Witch hunt
Da2
Tme
Dai(speculation on my end)

Yes but humans can push through it even if it hurts. so Morrigan could have easily used it to get where she wanted to go. i mean she knows some way to activate them, Unless she was hiding one of those activation gems some where we couldn't see.

Theory: the eluvians are somewhat sentient(can be tainted to some extent) natrually tolerant of elves so they travel thru with little issue. While humans are like a cold so the mirror will try to "purge" them by causing pain and yet unknown effects. Now if morrigan does have a keystone or jury rigged it it will allow passage. Need more time expand on this theory.... to the lore cave

Yeah. Or Morrigan could just be in Orlais so Flemeth might not get her next step in what ever she is doing. Because we know she sent Yavanna(who could be Flemeth since Hawke did free her outside of kirkwall) to wake up high dragons, and she want to take Morrigan's body while she was pregnant with old god baby, so she has some kind of plan and so she might be after another item in Orlais.

Pregnacy came later and ogb was most likely a massive bonus(opinion not fact) and if flemeth sent yavana to awaken a great dragon which higher than a high dragon(see wiki for more information) whats the end goal? X amount of apex predators, not good for the enviroment nor probably other dragons

All i'm saying in each game, she keeps having people get her things she wants, or at least tries to get people to give her what she wants.

And Flemeth told Morrigan about the ritual because that was the plan, Morrigan even says that's why Flemeth sent her with the warden.

Flemeth sent morrigan on that journey for 2 things, to get stronger and to get pregnant, both thinks she wanted because she was going to take her body. And Flemeth made the deal with Maric to find Yavanna to wake up the dragons so it was Flemeths plan to have them wake up.

C: a complete unknown being that was locked in the black city that has spent eons plotting his escape

If that's true I wouldn't be surprise that he was the one who originally tricked the Magisters all those years ago as part of that plan.

This is true. But whats the point of it all
Query: we have a theory that the elder one is a dragonic being, if so why did he cause the breach *paces back and forth* why disrupt the peace conference and why attack with all this strife in thedas

I don't think its just some great or high dragon who just got the idea of the whole world worshiping him, but Flemeth knows this is coming, she has since Origins. so it has to be something that has been make ripples in the fade. you can't do so much and not be noticed by at least some.

Maybe the elder one was imprisoned in the fade more specifically in the Black city, by the Gods long ago and couldn't escape without help from the outside most likely by creating a giant rift in the veil one of his attempts was to make the Magisters do it or maybe the first step in a larger plan.

Considering How Morrigan describes Flemeth in Witch Hunt, I will make the guess that Flemeth knows who the Elder one is. Like I don't know consort, or something Maybe she is the Andraste to The Elder One. *Throw one random Theory after another around*

then all this is maddening what is this plan

flemeth...at first i just assumed her to be either fen'harel, a at one point human turned living manifestation of the world, or when im grasping the formless one. But now i think she may be something more then those

The only two theories i even like about flemeth is that she is Andraste, or Fen'Harel. but i doubt she is either of those. it might not even be that big of a twist of what the elder one is, im happy they are keeping it secret though

But Flemeth most definitely knew this was coming.

Possibly she always struck me as a wild card half truth half bull and lot of hyperbole. Almost like kreia from kotor 2

He does have big ego, considering himself a god.

I remember a line from the Overlord raising in Hell DLC where a character named Gnarl say being forgotten is almost as bad as being dead for a god.

A true god could never be killed (What a god is differs from person to person but to me a god is something you can't kill), but the elder one isn't a god he is just an arrogant thing that believes himself to be a god even some the demon try to convince you that the maker doesn't exist.

It doesn't mean he isn't powerful and he is going to be a though guy to take on judging what he has managed to do.

why I have the sense of feeling that a Dalish inquisitor will fit the context most.

I intend to play my Inquisitor as basically the Nerevarine from Morrowind.

He doesn't think he's the Herald of Andraste...at first.

But will grow into that role.

So I hope the Elder One is a creature you can mistake for Satan even if it doesn't believe in the Maker.
