Ahhh. So Elder ELDER One. The dawn of creation sort of Elder.
Well, there's a few reasons you call something special, like a God, "Old" or "Elder".
The first is if it relates to practices no longer in practice, or Gods that were once worshiped but are no longer, which are therefore old in that sense.
The second option is that the God is actually very ancient. Often both of these are true at once, but not necessarily.
By calling himself the Elder One, he's either saying that he used to be worshiped but that worship stopped at some point... Or that he's very old to the point where it's a defining trait.
Maybe some people use "old" and "elder" to make people think of Lovecraftian concepts, but Lovecraft knew what he was saying when he used those worlds and to emulate him without understanding is just wrong and incompetent.
If the Elder One hasn't been previously worshiped, then his title is probably defined by his age as one of his most significant qualities.
