I like to think that the Power the Inquisitor has is a Portion of the Elder One's power. Thus I would think our Inquisitor would be of great interest to the Elder One, maybe even as far as trying to take his power back from the Inquisitor.

1 thats makes perfect sense what do we call this school of magic dreamer is a bit broad and fade seems too umbrellaSo they have to be using some kind of extremely powerful magic. that completely warps the fade. and maybe the amulet isn't so much as a door then it is a on off switch. maybe they were trying to bring the castle back to the world instead of just get the inquisitor out. That would make since who's been training and telling Felassan stories, and who maybe possessed him.
2 that also makes perfect sense lacks a body no different a demon possess felassan starts revive the elven race but decided "hey lets become the shem's god"

I don't know what would be the proper term for dreamers but hold on, Isn't Solas a dreamer?

If it ended up being an ancient elven dreamer - that might also explain both the time travel feel of some scenes - and the "you are a mistake".
Dreaming evidently creates reality. If another Dreamer (the "Maker" or "Andraste") interfered - then they could have caused a "mistake" to take place.
SO - my theory is "Ancient Elven Dreamer" = "Elder One" and Andraste was a Dreamer and ascended into the Fade and never died - and interfered with the plans of this Elder One by fashioning a "mistake" to assist in saving Thedas.

@Eluvianus Rex: I really don't think that's the Elder One. I really don't think Bioware would show you the big bad in a cutscene. I think's it's a dragon abomination.

Or just a red herring to make people think the villain is a dragon.

A pretty good guess. We haven't seen a possessed dragon yet.

Revenge.

Dragon abomination? Huh...interesting. I wonder what's possessing. And I'm betting it's a Great Dragon as well...

Revenge.
Revenge for what? Tevinter sinking Arlathan to the dust?
Also, for what reason would a Tevinter cult worship an Elven Dreamer?

Why not? The modern elves are only a shadow of what they were.
The Venatori might be misled as to the nature of the Elder One, or be initially duped into believing that aiding the Elder One is the only way to escape his wrath.
Having said all that, I don't believe it's an ancient dreamer. I do think it has some connection to the elves, but that's not it. From what little we know, the Elder One doesn't seem to be after revenge; its goal is power.

Dreamers are also known as somniari. They can manipulate dreams, kill people in their sleep, and cross into the Fade without the use of lyrium.
And, I'm unsure about Solas. His abilities that allow him to relive the memories of a certain place are reminiscent of Dreamer powers, and yet he isn't called a "Dreamer".

"IF" it's an Ancient Elven Dreamer - I don't think revenge would be the motive as much as an irritation that the empire is gone. I think - and hope - it would hate the modern elves for allowing such primitive creatures as shemlen to crush the empire.
So - while it would be kinda revenge - I think it would simply be trying to "put things right" - and to do that, EVERYTHING MUST GO!
Not to mention - I would say it's twisted by centuries in the Fade and is now part Spirit in it's own right - and sees the Fade beings as "it's people" and not elves or mortals of any kind.
Personally - I'd like it to be an entire conclave of ancient elven dreamers calling itself "The Elder One".
@raging_monkey: Thank you. I think it fits for both those who want to be Andrastian... and those who want it to be "just more magic". I think both groups win. People who support mages can say: "Andraste was a DREAMER! And she gifted me with great power." without being religious. And those who want to be Andrastian can say: "Holy Andraste blessed me! "
And both can comfortably march on as "Herald of Andraste" - Andraste the Prophet or Andraste the Dreamer

Personally i really doubt its going to be an ancient dreamer who is now awake. i just think that sounds boring. in the trailer we did see a dalish elf with glowing eyes, that could be your dreamer or it could be felassan.
Also in the E3 demo the ventori kept saying the elder one is almost here, and right before the demo ended you heard what sounded like a dragon, also me and monkey had this discussion but where the undead dragon was during the trailer looks a lot like redcliffe castle in the fade.
