2nights lol. And im fond of that theory tooTo me it's a no brainer. I mean didn't we have a night long discussion about what that spirit might be and we looked at pictures of diferent elven gods and then talked about witch hunt a bit.
Also if its true it will stomp the Flemeth is Andraste theory which i kinda love for weird reasons

There is a youtuber i really like. he's a host on a podcast called the Co-Optional podcast and is a Let's Player. And When DA:I was announced he was very much not excited for it and even bashing it. and was saying how he wasn't excited for the game because of the previous games which he didn't like all that much. now i look at twitter and he got a hands on play of it yesterday and will be releasing a video soon
and it seems like he is incredibly enjoying it. like he was only going to play it because it was an RPG but when his fan's told him to replay DA:O and stuff he completely switched gears and now seems to like the series.
If Jesse Cox who inherently didn't like the Dragon Age series at all now seems to be enjoying himself and was lucky enough to get a chance to play it. that makes me INCREDIBLY hopeful for this game. that if it can make someone who isn't even a fan like it then ill probably love it.

Yeah, checking other sites many people are "hoping" this will be good and are cautiously optimistic that it will be good. While some do say they wont bother due to DA2 and ME3 most are looking forward to the game.

I'm happy Game studios are reaching out to youtubers to show off their game. like the new Sidmeier's, evolve and so forth. i'm happy BioWare is following suit

When The Elder One eventually attacks Skyhold how bad do we expect the damage to be? Do we repair it? Or think it will mark the point of no return for the game and we prepare for the final battle?

That's a good question. didn't they say it was like halfway through the game we are attacked? We have only learned of cosmetic upgrades. do you think we will have actual defensive one's too?

well, if we can take keeps, I'm certain we can defend them as well.

I wonder if they'll pull a mass effect 2 and have your companions die if you don't upgrade or do their side quest.
I am perfectly fine with having to upgrade our keep...it makes sense

Yeah...but considering The Elder one has the means to nuke an entire keep, what good will upgrades do?

I don't really think he does have the means to cause those explosions so much. i think that explosion was the Venatori. i mean a cult member could have hidden with a Black chantry Cleric or priest who came to the summit and activated a bomb like the one we saw in DA:2 but this one is a bit different or stronger, or whatever.

I love upgrading stuff. and even though i hate it when it happens but i love the ability to lose people. like ill be sad if i lose my Cass or Sera but if i'm a leader and don't do what i can to defend them, they should be dead because of my neglect
I really hope they implemented that.

I wonder if it the game is "timed" like ME2 i liked that aspect but Dai is bigger and my completionist has been screaming for months
Somehow on my first playthrough nobody died and i didn't even do Tali's Companion quest.
i really don't know how she didn't die.

jack died cause i picked her by acciendent and i dislike resetting in general. "Shot yourself in the foot, take yourself to the ER" as i say. I just dont like being timed by a x time limit than a given timeSomehow on my first playthrough nobody died and i didn't even do Tali's Companion quest.

I found Garrus is the best team captain, while Legion is the best to go through the pipe and Jack/Samara are best to hold that shield. and mordin is the one to escort the survivors back to the ship. thats what i always did to win.

I really want to see how the army is going to act during this game. we are supposed to be able to attack these forts and we have hundreds of troops. so i want to see how some of that works.

I imagine fighting The Elder One will be like Sauron. You get to watch him toss all your soldiers around with just the swing of his weapon.

Cant be true. It would totally and completely ruin the RP experience for alot of people.
she existed, that's a fact, her ashes are magical, that's another fact. We are called the Herald of Andraste and as we know it, we are stuck with that title. so in all likelihood she does save us, and so we become her herald, holding her spirit or essence in our hand/spirit. probably from the ashes, not her coming from the makers side to save us, but the completely real and magical ashes that are in the temple with us.
in some RPG's we are stuck with some things for story reason. Could we not be a Grey warden? even if it would have been so much fun to RP a noble just trying to ascend to the throne. oh wait i had to be a grey warden. i didn't get a choice in the matter. Can't i just run away with Isabella and not start the mage templar war? oh wait I'm stuck saving the city and becoming champion. You don't always get what you want, since to tell a story some things have to be linear.
Don't be so dramatic. if the writers choose that, its their choice. when i play my Dalish elf mage who is going to be more anti human i will RP that even though Andraste saves my life.
Andraste was a wonderful woman who preached about uniting the world in peace and love, and freed thousands of Elves. Am i to blame if my great great great descendants kill somebody because they think i would want that even though i'm dead? no i wouldn't be. so why is she to blame for the chantry's action?
also i don't know what you are going on about ruining the RP expierence. you can still be anti chantry and help the mage's. Hell in DA:O you see the ashes first hand, does that stop you from hating the chantry? or disbelieving in her?
One last thing. the leaks are coming from Russia where the art book was just released and where people have seen images of OGB so right now, i'm going to pay attention about what info is coming out of russia since they got the art book early.

So, I've been reading through most of this thread and loving it so many cool theories. Recently I replayed DA2 b/c my main save file was corrupted
so I felt like I should replay it before DAI came out and I was talking with Merril when she tells the story of the Creators and Forgotten Ones were sealed away and I thought this was interesting.
In the story Fen'heral (spelling?) tells both sides that the other has crafted a weapon which will end the eternal war in their favor. Each side than goes to the other's realm and then they are imprisoned. So I'm thinking that the Creators are actually imprisoned in the Abyss and the Forgotten Ones are imprisoned in the Eternal City. If this is true than it would create a whole host of knew possibilities to the theory that the Eternal City and Golden City are one in the same. This could also explain why the Golden City was black when the magisters arrived b/c the Forgotten Ones had blackened it with their presence.
My theory is:
1. We know from the lore that the Forgotten Ones spoke in dreams
2. The magisters where contacted in their dreams and learned of blood magic from the Forgotten Ones
3. The Forgotten Ones tricked them into entering the Golden City to release them from the Golden City, but this didn't quite work out as planned. They were still trapped. Maybe because there was a safety measure, but it did weaken the prison.
4. Their interaction with the Forgotten Ones tainted them allowing the Forgotten Ones to send a piece of themselves to the physical realm.
5. The city turning black on the outside is a sign of the prison weakening of some sort. Their influence is spread to the outside not just contained within.
6. This taint is not control over the magisters or over the darkspawn but instead a manifestation of their hate and desire for destruction.
7. The darkspawn are drawn to the "Old Gods" because they seek to corrupt and spread their hate to the Forgotten Ones old enemies, but this is not done at the direction of the Forgotten Ones. It is a hold over from the taint.
8.
. The spirits fear the Black City because the Forgotten Ones are alien and powerful therefore they are feared.
Actually I just went an looked up the converstation with Merril and she does say the Creators are in the heavens and the Forgotten Ones are in the Abyss. But I still like my theory and it is possible that they Dalish remember it wrong. Since they lost everything and for the time that they were slaves all they had was oral tradition it is very possible that things were mixed up. Think of it like a giant game of telephone where "i like pie" turn into "purple monkey's can fly"
. So much of the ancient history has been lost or been changed it is possible that somethings are remembered incorrectly.

Sorry accidentally posted it before I was finished
9. The only evidence that the archdemons are the Tevintor old Gods is the Chantry, there is no direct evidence that they are. History could have gotten it wrong.
10. The Elder One is one of the Forgotten Ones is kind of what I'm saying.
Also I know that the codex says that they were trapped in their respective realms but the elves lost everything with the fall of Arlthan so it is possible that they messed up the story.
Idk, but it would be cool if this was a part of what was going on ![]()
