So, folks, what sort of Specializations are you thinking about taking in this game?
Knight Enchanter
Rift Mage
Necromancer
Artificer
Assassin
Tempest
Champion
Reaver
Templar
Each is said to be something which will impact the story so I'm curious what you think you'll be taking and why. As to how much they will pact things.
*sigh* I do regret no Blood Mage, though.

I'm a little bummed warriors didn't get a new specialization, but I'll roll a Templar as a warrior because it will be interesting to be pro-mage (for the most part) while being one.

Oh, I totally agree. Arcane Warrior was awesome and my Grey Warden was notable for being this guy running around in the Blood Dragon Armor PlatemailTM and carrying a staff. Blood Magic, by contrast, was kind of **** as far as I was concerned. It made you pretty weak or your party weak and seemed to have questionable effectiveness in battle. I mostly always became a Blood Mage for lore reasons.
Just so I could be a Lawful Good Maleficar.
Also, are we sure that Necromancer will turn out to be evil? It seems the Nevarrans practice necromancy pretty regularly and seem to think of it as a good thing.
I want to be a Rift Mage because it seems to fit with my being the Herald of Andraste.
However, if it's all about summoning Demons to fight for you, that seems like a bad idea.

"Champion" sounds politically and morally neutral, so I'll be choosing that for my first Inquisitor.
Beyond that, I'm interested in everything except Tempest and Necromancer. In the case of Tempest, it's mainly because I know nothing about the spec, so that could easily change. Necromancy is just too gross for me to seriously consider.

i'm still trying to decide if i rather pick champion or reaver, i've liked reaver in both origins and 2, champion was sadly not one of the specializations in 2, but it was awesome in origins. i'm hoping we can look around at the specializations before we decide which one we use in inquisition.

I'll pick Assassin for my dual-wielding Rogue, champion for two-handed Warrior and rift mage for my Mage. I'm also curious about Tempest though, but I wait for description of this specialization.

Totally rolling Necro first. Always been into the darker specializatiions. Though i'm planning one character for each spec.
What I found interesting was trying to put a race to each spec. ie: Templar fits Human, but Artificer could be Dwarf or Qunari (as both dabble in that kind of technology)

I've been thinking about this alot. What would make sense both background and lore wise.Totally rolling Necro first. Always been into the darker specializatiions. Though i'm planning one character for each spec.

Human- templar and knight enchanter
Qunari- champion, artificer, rift mage?
Elf- rift mage, necromancer ( we've seen a few dalish being able to submit spirits to their will ie zathrian and velanna), champion and i wonder if tempest would fit.
Dwarf- assassin, artificer, possibly Reaver if seeking more power or Templar ( being a smuggler of lyrium, if you can get the training you could emulate templar abilities)

It's pretty interesting. Especially when you reach blockades =P
Mine would go;
Human: Templar (chantry-raised), Knight Enchanter (circle-raised)
Qunari: Tempest (By the sound of the name, I see them as a strong, fast, fearsome class), Reaver (don't think they have anything against drinking dragon's blood), Champion (from being a set bodyguard unit)
Elf: Necromancer (agree with the spirit thing), Rift Mage (I assume elves have a closer Fade connection than humans?)
Dwarf: Artificer (all them dwarven experiments/craftsmen), Assassin (from being in the Carta)
But that's just based on the Inquisition backstories. If we're talking in general, then you have Human Necromancers (Tevinter), Quunari Artificers (inventors of gunpowder, yes?), Elven Assassins (highly trained hunters), Human Assassins (aka: Bards) etc etc. It gets quite varied =P

im probably gonna go assassin or tempest (when i find out what the hell it is) for my rogue, mage will be knight enchanter or rift mage (necromancer sounds like it could be really lame, if its just a raise dead spell), Warrior will be reaver or champion (templars are more specialized for use against mages rather than an all around warrior)

Champ or Templar for me, depending on what I have to do to get them.

Either Rift Mage or Necromancer.
Artificer.
Champion.

Necromancer, Artificer, Reaver would be top picks for each class.

Probaply Champion for my female qunari warrior, since Templar is too Chantryish and Reaver, I think, goes better with 2H warrior which isn't what I plan to try with her.
Rift Mage for my female elf, since I think she is reaally interested in Fade-stuff.
And while all the rogue spezzies are good, Tempest might be the one for my female dwarf. Need to know about them more, though. ![]()

All of them, eventually. I hope, anyway. I might just design my characters around them.

Artificer is so far the only specialization I likely won't be using.
I'll either be going with KE or RM for my first playthrough.
