i use tlk edit 2 and I just got this message. Is it a fixable issue? And how?

The toolset editor can open 2das that tlkedit chokes on.

The toolset can also corrupt 2das.

 

I always use Excel (or OpenOffice). Excel is also good that it converts multiple spaces into single spaces, vastly reducing the size of 2das.

Hi there. Apparently I have a row with 9 columns instead of 10. Deleting this row from toolset doesn't seem to solve it. But it opens it. That how I found out.

 

Loki, do I just open with excel and save as... what after I change/fix it? It's a small 2da, used for the wandering monster system.

You can open and edit 2das in notepad, I'd recommend this for fixes because unlike other programs (excel, toolset) it won't change anything if all you do is open and save. Just open in notepad and add something to the broken row.

Yes, the text editors will not convert the spaces between "" (as in "Walkmesh Helper, Z217, Flat Stone" or "Dragon, Bronze" [and this one is from the stock creatures!]) into as many columns.

I would recommend that anyone who edits 2DAs should search for names like those with spaces in them, and change the spaces to underscores or some other method of removing the spaces, to prevent accidents.
