The sense I get is that the Inquisition is a conspiracy of equals that are essentially making it up as they go along and trying to convince the rest of Thedas that they offer the best hope for an end to the chaos and danger.  Hence our need to build up power and influence.

Am I the only one who thinks using the phrase "action Jesus" May be a little inappropriate as some hold him in high esteem? It seems somewhat inappropriate for a forum which tends to tout and pride it's self on inclusion....unless that inclusion only exists for certain view points? No disrespect intended, I just don't think it is appropriate or wise to speak of something some hold as sacred with a common disregard.

Oh yeah the topic, I'd say Blackwall would be the mentor type in regards to being a leader,while solas would be the mentor in regards to mastering your powers
