Geralt's a set character and I'm pretty sure his hair had it's own animation team. Even Witcher 2 din't have many characters with long hair.
Companion characters and NPCs are set characters too.

I will admit to scrolling through this thread very fast, just to see the pictures of long hair people post X3
I love long hair on my characters, but I'm actually fine if the hairstyles "imply" long hair, too. Like pretty braids or messy buns, since that's how I wear my own long hair most of the time. ![]()

I'm hoping for long hair too. I really don't care if it doesn't move or clips. No big deal. I like my characters to be pretty. And yes, I do understand how difficult it is in real life to fight, exercise, not die from heat exhaustion, etc., with long hair. Mine is down to my waist, and it's been a HOT summer. ![]()
This discussion actually reminds me of the initial Zevran love scene with my human female mage in DAO. My Warden had this divine long hairstyle, and it was swept forward to where it hung over the front of her left shoulder. Well, naturally it didn't move, so when the scene focused on my Warden lying down and Zevran moving toward her, my Warden's hair smacked him right in the face. He didn't seem to mind. It was rather epic in its hilarity.
Honestly if I can get a real good ponytail with bangs I'll live. My issue with the ponytail so far in dragon age is that it's some weird tiny scraggly looking thing...
I haven't considered an inquisitor with longer hair so the fact that there might be less longer hairstyles than the short haircuts doesn't bother me much. I would like one option for a buzzed haircut though. The longest I'm willing to go is to the chin.
