A few points.

1. Lambert is missing, presumed dead in World of Thedas so Cole probably killed him.

2. Games Informer says that subduing forces is more or less the job of the Inquisition so it's basically Mass Effect 3 where you're gaining armies. So the Templars are going to be either defeated or allied with but both ways, you'll get them as allies.

3. The Red Templars are different from the main group.

4. The vast majority of the Templars are in rebellion against the Divine and only a tiny fraction stayed loyal.

5. Most of the Templars were ready to talk peace by the time the game begins.

Since there will be the option of siding with the Templars (thank you for that, Bioware) I imagine there will be some agreeable ones.

Whether they are good is subjective, of course.

It'll be interesting how they present the two sides in DAI in comparison to DA2.

And if he did, Cole will be subjected to the justice of the Inquisition.

There was a good sounding templar guy in the Last Flight bit that I read. Also, I would like to see some nonhumans, particularly elves. We have seen a dwarven one, but I'm waiting for that City Elf Templar.

Don't see why not.

Evangeline perhaps.

Uh, she defected from the order.

She'd be as much a "traitor" as Lambert.

There are Templars along with Seekers who chose not to follow Lambert

Hopefully they won't mind me turning them into tuna salad for abandoning their brothers on their maker given duty.

I have said it before and i will say it again; Lambert had the right of it.

BS. Justinia still was their boss, whether they disagreed with her or not.

If you want to kill people who could be helping your army, then by all means, do so. But I'm not gonna turn away the extra help.

Cullen's not templar anymore though. He said it himself.

Where did he say that?

She forfeited that right when she sent in an assassin that broke a containment and murdered templars, she lost that right when the accord was betrayed by the Chantry.

But didn't lambert send a assassin to try and kill her personally authorized research team she ordered to be protected? Doesn't that make him having forfeited his right of command by committing treason?

Uh no.

He gave a suggestion that the knight captain may wish to consider given the gravity of the research.

If they were assassins they wouldn't have let them leave with out a battle, they let them leave because they were backup for the knight captain if she chose to make that choice.

Seriously; I think people put too much stock into that, if he wanted those templars to be his hitmen, they would have acted in that regard, they didn't.

Beyond that? It's his baliwick such research would have fallen into, not informing him of it caused the incident in the first place.

So even then, its Justinia at fault initially, AGAIN.

BS. Justinia doesn't have to consult Lambert about the research at all. Again, she's the boss, so she is in the right.

._.

He's the head of the order designed to prevent that sort of crap from happening.

So how wouldn't it be his business?

Right, suggested. Then sent a detachment of 20 armed templars without his knight captians awareness in order to "help" surpress the information. 22 armed templars for a group of less then 5 mages isn't going to be to just sit down for a nice talk about not publishing knowledge. Only way it could be more obvious was for the templars to be accompanied by a complimentary coffin maker and a grave digger.

Don't see how you can say lambert was authorized to hide information from his knight captain, and yet get mad when his superior officer hide information from him.

Hide information?

About the supposed "assassins" that just let them walk away?

And again, look at what happened, they didn't attack.

They grumbled, and let them leave and told them they would tell the Lord Seeker.

Seriously, they were back up for the decision she was offered, i personally think it was the right one and would have saved everyone a whole lot of grief but that doesn't excuse those templar literally just rode out there and let them ride back out again.

They probably presented more threat to the local darkspawn population then the mages in question.

Ya know, i might find this whole argument a bit more convincing if those supposed assassins had actually you know...attempted VIOLENCE.

They didn't.

I admit, it disappointed me too as I personally wanted to send his soul to the Fade's worst pits.

You know this is like one of those conversations at work where you argue out which of the chumps in charge of your monolithic bureaucracy is the most to blame for this year's hideous organisational disaster.

I approve of Lambert's actions as they allowed Ander's dream to come to fruition and allow the mages to kill the Templars openly.

You know back in basic the firing range instructor for our class gave us a gem to chew over while we were getting worked into shape.

"Only an idiot provokes an enemy they cannot hope to defeat."

I am reminded of this every time i think back to Anders.
