I would love to see a video of Asari Valkyrie with Claymore(with all of powers, sans Fitness, developed) against Cerberus. White or Glacier preferred, but not not necessary.

 

Feel free to take a sidearm of your choice, but do try to use High Lord as much as possible.

 

This request is a few days old, but I'm curious as to the whole sans fitness thing, you mean a no fitness build? Because tbh, no fitness claymore Valk vs. cerb plat solo would be extremely irritating to play and you'd still have cooldowns sitting at ~5 seconds on warp even with maxed tech armor. 

 

Either way I lack the skills to do a video of this sort of solo, but I'm sure Techno is probably the person for it if she returns to playing again.

It's possible to get to 4 secs, actually. Which is what I have with the Venom (but you have to take 6b on Warp to get that with the Claymore).

 

I might try it someday, but I'm not lucky with solos atm. And I shan't play the Valkyrie without fitness - for what's the point of having Asari Justicar fully developed anyway ?

Ah no worries. I actually did the solo and made a video, if you are interested ( be warned though that my skill level is greatly below that of people such as Techno and Tupari), it'll just take a while to upload because my internet is  . I'll post it here eventually.

Would love it dearly And from what I've seen, you have a skill to spare, so no worries there.

 

Been watching a lot of old videos of Techno and Tupari lately, as well as many of Xcal's videos of pug games... dammit if I'm not getting an itch to play again. Sadly, it will be almost a month before I can get my game back, but I'm looking forward to getting back to my blue babes, sentient toasters and almost-but-not-quite-trenchcoat-wearing-maniancs-on-speed, as well as so many of my old flames

I played this really cautiously since it got off to a messy start (3 deaths in the first three waves, derp), was also conservative on missile use since I was anticipating garbage on w10. Of course when I anticipate targets or other junk, I get pizza retrievals. Still felt good to have a spare missile to clear things off the second pizza, anyway.

i m trying to solo glacier cerb with the fury with arc pistol and i have not settled on a build, nor a gameplay.

I had couple aggressive tries relying on AF Throw bE and speed, the usual deal with her (for me) but i suffered quite much, and despite cheating my way to extrac, i needed 40 min lol.... Was using a 63656 AP round build

I m also discovering i never tried nor considered Throw 5b (5a is quite a deal). I guess it works only for every other BE? Even though 2 quick ones sound better than one bigger. Have u guys/gals tried it ?

What do you prefer ?

I m already convinced passive are quite useless compare to more rank in DC. (what was i thinking...)

After looking at smehur's Build and time (vid), i m inclined to focus more on arc pistol and DC. Not sure AP or drill wld not still be better than warp ...

5b on throw is ****, no point in reducing cooldowns to 0 (throw cools down fast enough already) and you need the extra power anyway. 

So, 5a, definitely. 

 

3 points in DC is OK. It's not that useful to upgrade it to 6, but you can - however, I'd recommand to get the passive at 4, even 5. Something like a 6/6/6/4/4 would do just fine. 

 

Never tried the Arc Pistol on the Fury, but I tend to use AP (or Drill) on any kit I play with the Arc Pistol. But Warp ammo could be worth the try, I guess. 

 

I don't have any problem choosing, since I play the Fury with Acolyte & Hurricane.

The Gerbil and I compared notes afterwards on this one, for science and to complain about arc pistol fury. 

 

We both used AP ammo for our versions of that solo (his is the current record for that challenge, mine is somewhere in the themed thread and was 26:xx or 27:xx something. He didn't extract because he wanted his furry to die in a corner after that solo, so he did. he's a derp). I don't know what his gameplay style was but for mine, at least, I focused mostly on DC + Throw and arc pistol and really only relied on AF+throw during the goonrush waves and to stop charging banshees. Getting into constant CQC with the fury and doing the whole AF + Throw spam at 60FPS is basically just an invitation to get shredded by playing aggressively when you have no stagger weapon like acolyte or venom to compensate. That's probably true at any framerate, really. 

 

I would say go with AP for armored compartments and drill if you're going the Geth Scanner route. I made an attempt with warp ammo, found it to be a waste. But that's just my opinion on the matter,  your mileage may vary, etc. 

 

I don't remember what build I settled on, though. Probably was 6/6/6/5/3 since that's how I usually play the kit anyway.

Pretty much what FM_ said, 3 points in DC should allow you to play more agressively and get a better time

 

The build you used seemed pretty optimal to me. The only difference with the build I learnt to use and love is I go for Power Damage instead of headshot but that's for an acolyte and hurricane build so yours certainly works better.

 

Still think going rank 6 on throw is the way to go. You get more efficiency in up close BEs and you'll gain more time like that + it can help you survive hords of ennemies more easily, especially on wave 7 which is such a jolly good time (not being sarcastic despite the use of the word "jolly"). 

 

If you really want to play Glacier then go ahead and good luck to you. If it's just a matter of which map is faster, in this particular case I would suggest White. Maybe you already tried ? It's much easier yet will allow you to play very aggressively.

 

To make a fair comparison, my first solo with the Fury was on White with Geth Scan and took 41mn. Two months later, a bit more experienced with the kit I tried Glacier with Geth Scan, took 42:30. Then I played her a lot, got better with it and was able to play way more aggressively. Trained on White and before I realized it I was able to drastically reduce my previous times quite easily. Glacier is really good for gold speedruns and/or if you have Geth Scan and maybe in some other cases but for this kit and with Armored Compartment, I'm not sure it's optimal. 

 

About the ammo, only guessing but Drill might be wasted on Glacier without Geth Scan. AP rounds might be your best shot and Warp is worth considering. 

 

That being said, Take everything I wrote with a grain of salt (never understood that saying). I'm no expert regarding gameplay or builds, even for kits that I handle well and like FM_, I only played her with Hurricane and acolyte. The best tip I can give is to play her over and over again until you're able to find ways to finally unleash her fury, be agressive enough, without jeopardizing too much of your survability.

 

Edit : TTT made some good points and as he's done speedruns with the Arc Pistol they should be valuable. Probably the optimal build for acolyte + hurricane is not the same for arc pistol.

By the way, I use Throw with both Force upgrades (ranks 4 and 6). And I believe you should really take Force at least at the sixth rank, because that upgraded throw provides a great stun. And well, Throw, as I said, cools down fast enough :>

Trying to play more aggressively as people do with the acolyte is generally not going to work and will probably have very painful results. I learned that the hard way my first attempt at this particular challenge. 

 

My advice would be to play cautiously and rely more on arc pistol and DC + Throw and to let enemies come to you as opposed to running up to them to try to prime for AF + Throw. So essentially, Smehur's video appears to be the same as the strategy that I used. As such I'd recommend putting six ranks in DC in this particular solo.

My first solo with the Valkyrie and with the Venom. Too much N7 Fury gameplay made it a bit difficult to adapt to this specific kits and to play her differently but things'll get better as I play more and leave my Fury aside for a while. Still have a long way to go with the venom but I'm  slowly starting to get the hang of it. The few times I tried this gun I always had a lot of difficulties and gave up on it so I was surprised to see it worked pretty well from the get go.

 

It's a shame I got such good objectives for my first solo since odds are I won't get so lucky for a while. Depending on how I'm able to progress, I'll probably be trying to sub 25 in the future.

 

Other than that, great kit, and a very fun weapon for a solo, a really enjoyable match.

The setup (arc pistol fury cerb glacier) is fixed for the gordian hour challenge (3 plat solos in less than 100 min), and i aim to stay around 30-35 minutes.

If tupari and TTT are not able to pull the aggressive pattern, i ll losse my nerves if i try , so i  ll focus on DC next time.

I have a phase where i despise passive, so except if i want 2 more tenth of a sec on my CD (4b), i ll let them at three.

If Tupari

For AF, as glacier is quite small, i might try the debuff for once, might be usefull against goons especially, but i m so used to speed with her and speed is quite a must against goons too , so that might be painfull. I detect AF is out with speed rather than with the visual btw.

On throw, i really prefer radius cause close range projectile power are often not locked. But i guess i should keep 1000N.

I ll stay with ap for now, but might get back to geth scanner with drill. Drill is really cool against bubbled phantoms.

I want to try throw 5b at some point too, out of curiosity. Goon rush migt be fun with it.
