Following Bateman's progress here is really making me want to try pushing myself in solo speed times too soon. Normally my only solo experience is usually with sub optimum builds in pugs. Going for a full dps setup and tearing it apart sound pretty interesting to me all of a sudden. I'm just going to wait a bit more for my PC manifest to grow more. My Harrier is still at lvl.3. And that's the gun I really want to tear Platinum with, despite lame Platinum ammo boxes.


Just be careful so you don't also become a total solo junkie like some of us :)

Went with Acolyte and power amp instead of usual Arc pistol and cyclonic. Bad missile usage and not so good objectives (devices, devices, hack) as usual. I will do this again as low 30 min will be in my reach.

With that in mind, why don't you take a Hurricane as secondary? Yeah, it has stability issues, but killing those big armored targets shouldn't be too much of a problem, even without any stability bonuses. I imagine a good player(like yourself), could shave quite some time off with that combo.

This was more of a personal challange for me than trying to make fastest time possible. Just happy to do a solo without cyclonics and make majority of kills with powers instead of a powerful gun. Also lots of biotic booms which is one of the best part of this game for me.

The hurrdeurrcain does't help much when you set up reave spam vs the reapers really. you will just have to change weapon all the time. will prob help kill brutes a litle bit faster, but they die so fast anyway. Only thing i would change to the durrdercain for is atlases when they are down to armour, but with this setup on reaper plat, you will want to nuke all atlases anyway.

But it's personal preference

Indeed, the only thing I use the Hurricane for with the AJA are Atlases at close range after their shields have gone down and if I know there are no other units close by, the weapon switching animation is quite long, should a Phantroll sneak up not having the Acolyte out will most likely get you sync killed.

But I watched some of the video, my advice if you want a quicker time Anterojp is to use your missiles, it's always a gamble that you don't get targets on 10 (I've rage quited quite a few solos for getting targets on 10) but it will help you with getting the waves go faster.

The average time for the Justicar on White (or Hazard White) using only the Acolyte is 30:56, from a total of 11 entries.

The same setup with the addition of the Hurricane is 32:20, from a total of 5 entries.

 

Admittedly, that's not exactly a large sample size but it does point towards the Hurricane's relative insignificance.

It was quite difficult coming back to low, jittery frames again but this was my first full game since March last year so I'm pleased despite the awful time.

Ecort, Hack, Devices

Been doing this over the past two days, 4 previous runs that all ended with wave 10 targets and a big FU to the game followed by rage quits.

Two tries today as well, the first ended with a CTD on wave 8 and then on my second run I got to wave 10 and got devices which took me over 4 minutes to do due to all sorts of BS, had I gotten at least a hack this would easily have been sub 25.

2 missiles going into w11; not very good management of missiles. Finally recorded a video but this would be so boring to watch I guess.

 

M-8 Avenger: Deadly Slightly better on full auto than beating the enemy with it.

Alright, Bateman. I figured out the Proxy Mine on Platinum goons issue. You have to at least spec into the the 50% dmg increase (just the 30% one alone and even maxing out proxy with recharge evolution 6 doesn't work) to stagger Platinum Dragoons.

 

But I also remember someone saying that if you max proxy on a GI with 50% dmg, that you can one shot husks too. Something that would be handy to save on time with single shot weapons like Javelin. Only to my disappointment, it didn't work. Maybe because I choose speed evolution in Hunter Mode. So I'm currently trying proxy mine with less radius to see how that works. Any thoughts on final HM evolution for Platinum solos?

 

 

And one more question I have. Do you guys kill double Banshee waves or dance around them or just chip at them or just chip at them just to force them to stop? They seem to take too long too kill, but are always chasing you too.

Wave 5 is a missile wave, double banshees and Phantrolls. Sometimes the Banshees will come at you first, try to stop them as quick as possible and then nuke when more units are around (preferably the Phantrolls). When you start to be chased by them you will start to lose a lot of time and risk running into Phantrolls, their hand lasers will drop you so quickly if there is no cover available.

It's that or faster shield regen. Since you don't need proxy mine to stagger everything with automatic weapons.

Decided to do a BW solo, the time wasen't very good but concidering how bad I am at sniping and that I only needed one try I'm pretty happy with a sub 25 at least.

Don't laugh at the 5 HS medal though, I'm really bad at sniping.

Maybe 4 ranks in cloak could be better on the GI, but when I use load outs like PPR and Scorpion with the Heavy barrel it's a lot of weight added up, being able to cloak a bit more frequently is my preference and it seems to be working out ok for me so why change it :P

TC is a power you either put at 4 or 6, unless playing a melee build, in which cases the 5th rank is understandable.

Most of the time yes that's true but not always, given how squishy the GI is I from time to time let it run longer.

Adding on rank 6 of PM instead would give a small damage increase, but not a major change - might try it if I redo the GI again at some point with no SR.

But the next solo I'm considering now is a GI/Javelin run, haven't really decided yet but might give that a try in the coming days.
