In a solo (well, even in team games actually) you're going to break the Cloak immediatly or shortly enough to get the usual 3s cooldown almost 100% of the time, whatever your loadout. TC is a power you either put at 4 or 6, unless playing a melee build, in which cases the 5th rank is understandable.

 

Those 5 points would be better used to max Proxy Mine. 

 

This isn't always the case for me. Combine that with the weight of something like the Javelin...

 

4 ranks in the nades won't make much difference anyway since I more or less never use them.

Maybe 4 ranks in cloak could be better on the GI, but when I use load outs like PPR and Scorpion with the Heavy barrel it's a lot of weight added up, being able to cloak a bit more frequently is my preference and it seems to be working out ok for me so why change it 

 

So that's the back up weapon of choice for solos? I've yet to resort to stagger backups on weapon platforms. Same for rockets (ok, so they don't work. I'll fix that later). Still just messing around and practicing the hard way for now (faster aiming, kits, weapons, faction wave composition, maps, map layout & routing, etc). Why none of my solo runs are serious yet. But was thinking of something like Scorpion already. I did also quickly force max my PC manifest yesterday just to have all options open already solo wise.

For Cerberus the Scorpion is probably the best secondary if you use a hit scan gun as your main.

The Harrier isn't the best gun either imo as you run out of ammo all the time with it, I prefer both the PPR and Lancer over it.

^ Which reminds me. On Firebase White, when a Collector Trooper places a web from the bottom of center stairs toward new backway path addition (where Geth turret get placed too), he can magically walk through that wall afterwards. Seen it happen twice already. Anybody else?

Most of the time yes that's true but not always, given how squishy the GI is I from time to time let it run longer.

Adding on rank 6 of PM instead would give a small damage increase, but not a major change - might try it if I redo the GI again at some point with no SR.

But the next solo I'm considering now is a GI/Javelin run, haven't really decided yet but might give that a try in the coming days.

Sounds great. Will you stay on White ? I find this map not that great for sniping...

I will probably try it on Gigant in that case, the DAI works for sniping on White due to the Recon mine, but if I do try GI/Javelin I'd like a bit larger more open map, Gigant would probably be one of the better options.

Here's the extraction screenshot showing 6 rockets with GS equipped. Can upload video if needed but it'd be glitchy ever so often.

 

Targets/Targets/Devices - just the objectives you need when doing a no rocket solo. I missed 3 shots on a phantom in cover and I had bad feeling I was going to botch the solo doing something stupid. Thankfully, that didn't happen.

Yep, that's how I would do it too.

Will be either Vancouver or Gigant, I've only soloed Vancouver once before so I might be a bit more comfortable on Gigant - but let's see when the time comes.

I have asked this in the other topic but I'm going to do it here, too: What can we do to keep the co-op section going? Can we migrate somewhere or creating a new MP forum, if that's the best? I'm pretty sure there are some great free alternatives forum-wise. (Any relevant advice is appreciated)

I would suggest that if there are any plans for moving the Platinum Solo thread, it should be to the same platform as the Themed Challenge Group (and my much less used/mostly forgotten Gold Solo Speedrun Thread) since they are all somewhat related. Perhaps a subreddit for Me3 MP challenges? IDK. 

 

If any of this does migrate, I'd go wherever, but with one caveat: never facebook.

It's weird because I've just realised that BSN was the only reason I've been playing this game. And now all the things we've achieved are getting deleted. I think reddit would be the best place too. It's the 2nd most popular platform for ME3MP discussion, and we could get the mods to sticky the HoF threads. Who knows, maybe some redditors would also start doing challenges/solos.

 

I may or may not do more platinum solos. On one hand it feels like it would be a waste of time as the "official" place for solos is getting taken down, on the other hand I feel like I need to make a "final charge" while BSN is still alive.

 

Thank you Loufi for maintaining this thread for so long. NightSlasher and Cato for the very interesting statistics. And last but not least thank you for all of you crazy RNG-grinding, devices / targets-ragequitting, Collectors / Cerberus / Geth / Reapers-hating soloists. Not only is it the only reason I'm still playing (the main reason being this thread specifically), I almost certainly never would have bought the DLCs, or tried out DAI (my first DA title) if it weren't for the forum. I bought all of them after reading about them here. And I'd hazard that I'm not alone. That's the really questionable part about this: its far from obvious that shutting down the site and saving on whatever minimal maintenance costs it requires will outweigh the long-term financial benefits of cultivating this sort of fan community and the loyalty that naturally comes with it. So, even given the cold financial justification that is ostensibly the motivation for Bioware's decision, its still not clear that it makes any sense. I guess Bioware/EA is going to find out.

I understand how you feel, Loufi, Bioware seem determined to alienate a lot of their biggest fans. But you put a lot of time into the HoF, it would be a real shame if it just disappeared.
