There was a time when I used to curse Geth to no end and also cursed at the person who designed Geth.

 

Now, Cerberus took over that position. And I actually like fighting geth every now and then. Collectors are still my favorites though.

Could you elaborate on this? Please? Or link to an older post in case you've already done it before? I'm not looking to argue - simply interested in the opinion of someone with the kind of experience you have.

Well, I used to hate Geth a lot in the past. I made a lot of posts cursing Geth in the past. And that was based on only a handful of Geth experiences. I almost never played Geth during that time (however, it was my mistake for not giving Geth enough chance as I did with the other three factions).

 

But when I started doing cerberus solos and more of Prestacious' challenges vs. cerberus (esp. on platinum), I realized how much BS cerberus have. My hate towards cerberus exponentially grew. I particularly hated how much they limited my diversity. Nothing forced me into a wall-hugging, RHA focused gameplay as much as cerberus did, and I hate that sort of gameplay. What I experienced in solos slowly started to show-up in team-games too.  

 

As my hatred for cerberus began to grow, I started to give Geth another try. And suddenly, their BS didn't trouble me much (much being the key word). I was able to counter some of their BS pretty easily, and they didn't limit my playstyle as much as cerberus did (ofc, some geth waves are bad but they are just isolated examples). If anything, Geth improved my gameplay a bit in the recent past because melee/CQC against them requires a bit of thought instead of blind rushing.

 

I am not saying Geth are my favorite faction, but I do have some sort of respect for them (because they did help in improving my gameplay, and also because of how much they make other BSNers rage - hell, I used to be in that category not too long ago ). I most certainly don't hate them now as I do with cerberus. Collectors are by far my favorite though.

Seriously, thanks for the insight,  I think I understand what you mean - and I pretty much agree with you. Personally I've always tolerated Geth yet I still consider them the worst faction, but like you, I also dislike Cerberus a bit more than I used to. Reapers I like, even if they have some BS going for them, but Collectors definitely takes the cake as the best faction.

I did a Paladin one which I will compress overnight and upload tomorrow probably.

 

Then I decided to do one with the Shadow since I hate that Infiltrator and I will work on that class next.  Noticed nobody had gone against Geth with her, probably because they don't hate their life.  It was quite the journey since I like to get full extraction for my own satisfaction...

I did not melee a lot because melee is stupid and I wanted 10WS.  Didn't get it, and didn't extract.  Mission Successful of course since they didn't have the courtesy to kill me more than 3 seconds before extraction.

Did not care about melee at all for this, well maybe a few times.  I didn't have melee mod so it was pretty useless when I did SS since I would have to shoot most things to kill them.  Got killed turning on the Wave 6 Hack which pissed me off.  I got Mission Successful but didn't extract because the asshats screwed me again at the end.

3 waves survived, dead at w4, then 5 waves survive. I was sick and tired of getting owned by Phantoms with my GI. So I decided to cheese the F out of Cerberus with Venom. Used 2 missiles for clean ups on w6 and 10.

I will try hard to get my fastest time under 70 minutes some day.  But first I have to solo with a vanguard and a soldier to have soloed with every class. I like vanguards - but not for solos - and I don't like any of the soldiers particularly well, so that will be a real challenge for me. Also have Paladin vs. Geth on my plat solo to-do-list. That one is for fun, because I absolutely love the Paladin's explosions...

You can actually use Cabal for Vanguard. I almost solo'd my first plat with her, banshee grab on w10.

The crap waves for Geth are mainly 2 and 9.  10 has Primes, but as an objective wave it is hardly alone in that respect.  I think running the short circuit around the cargo area of Rio probably beats Condor on most waves, and objectives might be a wash (depend to much on specific objectives for each map).

It depends of course of objectives and the character used, but I think that Rio Geth is overall easier than Condor Geth, mainly for a better amount of cover. Definitively with the TGI, because of a better Stim Packs supply on Rio, and the crap objective of this map (pizzas for console players) isn't such a big deal when you can restore your shields without any cooldown.
