You know what would be even more awesome? If you could post your builds too. I realize it's a pain in the ass and I won't be surprised if most if not all of you just ignore this, but it would be quite helpful to us scrubby-baby-soloists. This especially applies when people post videos - sometimes it's kinda frustrating to watch a smooth run and not be able to tell whether it was a cyclonic or a full-fitness build that helped make it smooth.

I usually post a link to the build in the description. But sometimes, I forget. You can always ask those who posted vids for their builds.

@Smehur: I'll start with two of my favorite builds.

A power build. Tech explosion 1 (Snap Freeze then Energy Drain) against barriers and shields, tech explosion type two (Snap Freeze then Incinerate) against armor and health, fire explosion (Incinerate then Energy Drain) against targets on distance. Great against any enemy type IMO (though I still have to complete a solo against the Reapers with it).

My go-to-girl against any enemy. Tactical cloak gives the option to spare the cyclonic mod and use a power amplifier instead if you start to get comfortable. Dark Channel as the main power used against any enemy, Warp build up to rank 5 to increase weapon damage when used alone and to detonate as many biotic explosions as possible when used in combination with DC. IMO one of the best assassins for target objective waves, which helps to save your missiles for the late rounds. The long TC variation is fantastic for hacks and devices while obviously getting you safely anywhere on the battlefield and still having an insane power boost.

Or I could just bug you individually about what you used for what run.

I can't record gameplay (and I doubt many folk would want to sit through an hour or so of me scrubbing through a solo anyway) but I'll include my build in my posts from now on if you like.

I'm sure everyone in this thread would be happy to tell you their builds for specific solos if you asked too.

You mentioned the enemy protection type for the other two tech combos, but didn't specify anything for the incinerate+ED combo. Hence, I made that post.

Don't worry. On second thought I didn't say anything specific about synthetic armor and health. I was speaking more in general that I use ED to detonate on shields and barriers, while I use incinerate on armor and on health.

 

BTW: detonating Snap Freeze with Energy Drain on a Phantom's barrier is THE best (my favorite)!

 

Edit: and on third thought, you are speaking about the long distance explosion combo (Incinerate/ED), while I immediately thought about my two main shorter distance ones. Now I have to say: my bad.

@Smehur : I always display my build at the beginning of my videos, both for the reason you mentioned and to show that I don't use the 66666 glitch. For my solos with screenshots, feel free to PM me or to ask here what was my build and why I made these choices, it would be a pleasure for me to answer. This thread is mainly dedicated to the archive of plat solos but this is also a place where players can discuss about their builds / strategies.

@T-Raks: I play those kits a lot but I haven't tried solos with them. I'd skip on the final evo of ED on the Paladin, for example, but go all the way in incinerate, and forgo the cryo shield for the fourth evo in passives. Also I seem to remember hearing that the tech combo evo in snap freeze doesn't work? But maybe that's only on EDI? As for the Huntress, yeah, that looks like a sturdy, self-sufficient build.

 

@cato: Yes, please, I'd appreciate it. Can you tell me about your cabal, since you used her quite a bit lately? How do you build her, and how do you play her? I'm struggling to make her work even on gold.

I use a 46664 build for the Cabal. It's surprisingly tanky and very reliable but not the most fun build to play in all honesty because Poison Strike is only used to quickly maneuver around the map and Nightshade Blades are only used when there are a group of enemies quite close and I need a stagger. I basically just rely on the i-frames and damage reduction from Biotic Focus to allow me to concentrate on scoring headshots.

The great Turian passives make the Arc Pistol even more awesome but as virtually all my damage comes from the weapon, with no complementary powers or debuffs, I'm not very quick at solos with her.

Areksto's Human Adept solo had pushed the Phoenix Adept into 19th place, your solo moves him into 17th position with an average time of 48:31.

 

Another two solos 34 minutes long will move the kit up to 10th place.

Just one more 35 minute solo will see the PA break into the top ten.

The PPR is a terrible weapon for wave 9 on Geth Platinum. With two Primes and four Rocket Troopers constantly interrupting the beam from the other side of the map I really started wishing I had equipped any sidearm.

Nothing too surprising in terms of average times, I guess, though I thought Rio might have been further down the list. Glacier is, of course, the map with the fastest average time but I thought White and it's Hazard version would have been a little closer.

 

Thanks mainly to the PC folks, all maps have a sub-30 entry in the HoF now.

 

The overwhelming popularity of White and Giant is readily apparent, they have a combined total of 667 solos - more than every other map combined (581).

 

TheTechnoTurian and ex-Clusum dominate the fastest time records with 6 and 7 respectively.

 

DanDCD with his Talon Merc solo on Giant (Hazard) is the only console player to have a fastest time record.

It's almost amazing how slow I can go even with such OP setups as the Talon GI. Although this did beat my previous time for a London solo..................by one whole second.

 

This completes my second tour as Admiral - I've now completed Platinum solos on every map at least twice, which I believe no-one else has done. Actually, TheNightSlasher and ex-Clusum have almost certainly done that too but just not submitted all their solos here.

Got triple escort, all of which turned out to be pretty smooth. Build same as before.

 

I kinda wanted sub-30 and took AC V, and set to Glacier. But I missed my scanner big time as I couldn't smash through walls and wasted quite a bit of time on w7 and w9 running away from phantoms. 

 

This might push the smashdept into top 10, replacing the smashguard, or get him into 11th position.
