I cheesed this one pretty hard with the map, the faction, and incendiary ammo IV with an Acolyte and Wraith, and it still took me over a hour to do it. I wanted to ask you guys how you get sub hour plat solos and what is a good time? 40 mins? And also the other factions seam much harder than Reapers. Reapers is like easy mode.

Cato will maybe contradict me but I think that the average time for plat solos has fallen around 45 minutes in the last months. PC is faster so you can add a few minutes for the average time on consoles. 

 

Of course, the time of a plat solo has to be appreciated with the map, the enemy, the character and weapons used and the objectives. Bad objectives can add 10 minutes to a solo, possibly more if you're forced to use missiles.

 

Times are also influenced by the strategy used by the player. I see, for example, that you kept 5 missiles for wave 10 during your QFE solo. It was probably a good decision since you got targets to eliminate but, if you redo this solo, you could bet on your luck and keep only 1 missile for the wave 10 clean-up. Nuking 3/4 spawns in the most annoying waves (at least 1 wave 5 and 2 wave 8 I would say) could probably give you a sub-50 solo with the exact same setup.

 

The faction chosen has also a big influence on the time. Cerberus is the best for fast runs, as none enemy has a better ratio budget / time to kill than Phantoms. Besides, Cerberus has only one double Banshees wave (Banshees suck to be fast), and it's wave 5, so 2/3 good killstreaks and the wave is almost done. I add that Atlases can be used sometimes to block other enemies and serve as a source for AoE damage.

 

About the difficulty of the different factions, it depends a lot on your setup. Reapers are probably considered as the easiest because of their low fire power. They can be tedious however with low dps setups (lot of big armors to destroy). Cerberus can drop you quicker but has a lot of little units who can be trivialized with certain staggering weapons (Venom notably). Geth are tough in most situations, unless you're playing a tech explosions monster like the QME. They are the least popular faction for plat solos.

 

Collectors are the enemies we defeated in ME2, they are not in ME3 !

The average time for a solo against Reapers on White is 50:43, so you're not far off that. And the only other FQE solo on that setup was slower than you (MasterReefa - 65:59, although he was using the Executioner only).

If you have a way to comfortably deal with Phantoms and the bum rush from Dragoons then Cerberus are significantly faster than the other three factions, with an average time of 43 minutes. The other faction's times are: Geth 56 minutes, Collectors and Reapers around 58 minutes.

 

Also, good use of missiles has a bigger effect on times than almost anything else, in my experience. I did two runs with the exact same setup and got similar objectives, on the first I played well but derped horribly with my missiles; on the second I played really quite badly but nailed whole spawns with every missile. The second run was the fastest.

The average time for a solo in the HoF is 51:43. Although that time drops to 45:50 if you only count the 590 solos that have been completed in the last 6 months.

 

The average times for the three platforms (counting all solos) are: PC - 49:40, PS3 - 50:58, XBox - 61:14.

After some failures, it was time to put a cyclonic mod back on. Had a cyc mod 2 available, so I went with the Human Adept (with my usual 6/6/6/0/6 build) against Cerberus.

Pizza, Pizza, Hack. Missed to glitch the hack, so that cost a bit of time. Once I have another power amp 4, I will try to improve the time again, but this was a nice game except of the usual Dragoon bullshit in wave 11 (I had to revive myself with 3 seconds left   ).

Glacier is the fastest, but objectives are annoying on that map, and kiting is not easy.

White is the best compromise between speed and ease.

Cerberus is the fastest, by far. Take any stagger gun and you've won half the battle - you can dispose off phantoms in seconds. Guns like arc pistol is also really good. (Crusader is good too, but the aim delay can be annoying against phantoms).

As Slasher suggested, White / Cerberus is the best possible compromise between ease and speed. As for the characters, there are some obvious choices for fast runs like Geth Trooper of Talon Merc but, if you're not in the mood for pushing the same button for the entire solo, you could give the QME a try. Equip the Venom with disruptor rounds (or incendiary), eventually with the Hurricane alongside for Atlases, and you will probably be surprised how fast you go with this setup.

Thanks cato ! I will try to keep track of it now. Lowering the average PS3 time to sub-50 could be a good objective for the next months, but it would take a lot of solos.

 

To be honest I have lost the precise count in october-november when I did a lot of solos in a row. I thought I was above 100, what is true in a sort since I had done 6 solos before starting posting them. But, OK, I note that "officially", I'm at 99 lol. 

 

I did three solos these last days but didn't know that one of them was the 100th so they aren't special, though one of them is my fastest so far. I will post only two of them because... I have erased by mistake the vid of a salarian engineer run  .

Is your fastest solo under half an hour? Because just 16 solos lasting 30 minutes or less would push the PS3 average time below 50 minutes - too fast for me, that's for sure. Someone needs to call Knockingbr4in.

Pfff... not even, 33:38, I suck. I blame devices wave 6 (3 minutes + a missile) but this is more likely my noobyness for speedruns. The fact is that playing aggressively doesn't fit well my natural playstyle and temper, so I have to "force" myself constantly whenever I want to be as fast as possible.

 

Now that you make me think about it, I realize that my goal in the game has always being good or at least decent with all characters rather than killing as fast as possible. But still, I will try nevertheless to get a few sub-30.

I don´t like playing with Juggernaut at all and this guy is quite rare to me. This took 3 attempts and in 2 of them I used GPS. I used melee only once but spammed siege pulse like a maniac. Objectives were object recovery, targets, escort.

All soldiers and geths done.

Well, I have some bad news for you, I'm afraid. Your solo and ex-Clusum's before it have moved the QME back to the top of the league, on 39:16.
