Techno, I remind you that, despite your love for turians, you still haven't solo'd plat on Condor. Re-retiring without doing it would be a shame.

I've been putting Condor off because it is the worst turian thing ever... I guess fat turian no dodge vs. Condor will be have to be my next adventure.

So I gave Raider QMark a go.  RNG was kind and gave me Assassinate on 6, which I blew 4 missiles on, then it gave it to me again on 10 and so I did my best Benny Hill impression and managed to kill them all, but wasted too much equipment and didn't live much longer than that.

 

 

Tried it again and since I hoped it wouldn't give me targets, so it of course gave me Devices on 3, then Devices on 6, and then to be somewhat nice Packages on 10.

 

 

Abominations are pretty annoying when you don't have a stagger power or weapon.  My aim also wasn't great enough these two matches to trust that I wouldn't miss against the Possessed Aboms, so I had to dance a bit to get some range, then shoot them.

 

I recorded it so I will post the vid tomorrow.

Considering how much I've carried my teams (I've had Plat extractions where I was the only one to pass 30k, with a full team from wave 1 and no one left) I'd probably be all over this challenge if not for the fact that all I can do to prove it is take crappy cell phone pictures of my screen. As such, I'm content to say "pfft, too lazy, kthxbai nap time."

Still, though, that IS damn impressive, and congrats to the newest Admiral!

I wasn't planning on it, merely wanted to try something out against platinum Phantoms. I made a couple halfhearted attempts at soloing platinum before, the last one months ago, and I wasn't sure I'll ever get it done. I'm not good enough to do a 25 minute speed run, and didn't think I'd have the patience to kite around Giant for an hour. But there I was, finished with wave 1, so I figured I'll play till I get dropped. Then I got through the second wave, the RNG gods were kind with the wave 3 objective, and before I knew it I had 5 waves survived w/out using any consumables; so I figured I might as well try to finish it off.

That's all the proof required. But I should point out that Platinum solos, particularly on the less common maps/setups, might be more difficult than you think. Some of the players in this thread just make it look easy, that's all.

On that topic, the console players with most maps completed (besides yourself, loufi) are: INVADERONE (12), cato_84 (11), Caineghis2500 (9), IAMxSHADRACH (8), HardcoreSalmon (7), N7 Spectre MD (6).

I'm not sure how active the others on that list still are but I'll try to finish off my maps soon.

I'll try to do my part to catch up as well. What turned me off from plat solos for a long time was how many wave 10 target wipes I had in a row... 11. Yes, 11 in a row...once with 5 gels to spare (I apparently have a hard time with wave 10 targets). The activity in this thread has revived my passion for plat solos though Also, there aren't enough scrubby times in this thread...

Yikes, that's harsh. Luckily I only use my missiles if I get a Target objective and I don't think I'll be able to do without. So I often go in to wave 10 with 6 missiles left and praying that I get Targets, that's exactly what happened with the following solo:

For Invader, I assume that he is no longer playing, so I'm afraid it will stay at 12. Caineghis is apparently retired from plat solos too. I don't know about Shadrach. For Salmon, did you check his YT channel cato or simply this thread ? I'm pretty sure, for example, that he has solo'd Condor, but he didn't post it here.

 

So, I have great hope that you will be the the next console admiral cato ! For Tuchan... PS3  !

11 times... that's brutal. I got the problem one time, but "only" 6 times in a row. I don't think your last time was "scrubby", Collectors are long to kill. Plus, the GPS isn't the best weapon to kill Praetorians  .
