That's the issue. They hardly market their products as games with fun game play. Now it's all about who you can f*ck, and what feminist tumblr nonsense they happen to be covering.

TBH it's no longer just Bioware.

In a recent Lords of the Fallen walkthrough, the developer starts going on about how there's female NPC's in the game as if it's a new feature to gaming worth mentioning.

If this sh*t has reached Poland, we're all doomed. God help CD Projekt.

Romancing Tali or Garrus isn't a big deal though is it? How does it negatively affect your game if you don't do it?

How do we know that out of all the asari npc's we encounter throughout the series that none of them are matriarchs? We may not engage them in conversation but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

Did people demand that Cerberus become a vast and powerful army? News to me if true.

Those nonsensical romances compromised the integrity of the setting. That Tali could end up being rawdogged by another species with zero consequences (thanks to handwavium "herbal supplements) and femshep can withstand being clawhammered by Garrus is a joke. It's BW catering to the base whims of the fanbase (ala playersexual 'mances in DA2).

There may and may not have been. That they didn't talk made them irrelevent regardless.

No but they catered to the vocal paragon fanbase at the expense of the (admittedly fewer in number) Cerberus supporters. The whole "Citadel coup" mission for instance, serves zero narrative purpose(nothing changes even in a game where Leng kills the Salarian councilor) and is just there for the kiddies to pew pew at Cerberus and kill Udina.

If it reaches Dead or Alive then I know the gaming industry is doomed.

Seeing how the TC hasn't responded to his own thread all this time, I can only surmise that the intent was not to answer any questions.

Those are some... nice euphemisms.

I think the problem is that romance is taken to a typical "coitus ensues" conclusion for Tali. Strong relationships don't need to include that. If it must, then having some consequences (like a human sickness catching up to Tali) would make the whole weak Quarian immune system thing have more weight.

As for Garrus, I don't think they have have "clawhammering".

Keep in mind that I haven't finished ME3.

First they came for the 30-something white dude protagonists, and I did not speak out—
Because I did not get offended by 30-something white dude protagonists.

Then they came for the heterosexual characters, and I did not speak out—
Because I did not think that not featuring something is purposeful exclusion with malicious intent.

Then they came for the Gamers, and I did not speak out—
Because I could not care any less who else play the games I enjoy.

Then they came for the breast jiggle physics—and there was no one left to speak for breast jiggle physics.

Tumblr? Oh yeah, I follow Ask Ukrainebow Dashki and Pokemon X Nic Cage on that site. How does directing us to the dashboard help us understand what you don't like about BioWare games though?

No. Bioware does have a problem listing to their fans too much though and making really dumb choices, that's not the same though.

The tali mance, like all BW romances (sans Morrigan and Alistair) are just a fan service side show that ultimately results as sex as the final reward. It would've been nice if she was physically compromised in ME3 but... that's not how BW rolls.

Turians have exoskeletons and Mordin recommends femshep to take painkillers so...... yeah, not a pleasant experience.

You know BioWare has gone too far with the tolerance thing when they start forcing people to be gay.

We haven't heard people giving long political monologues after they heard a joke that offended them for whatever reason, so I don't think there is any political correctness in these games.

Though I will give you the fact that everyone in Kirkwall is bisexual is a bit strange.

I was referring to the way the post was written, not necessarily about the person's contention.

And as to why I think Dragon Age Inquisition will be ****? Well there's the uninspired gameplay, abhorrently awful writing/dialogue, ugly looking character models (not as in the characters are ugly but the way they are rendered in game), way too much focus on romance and a really bloated UI.

That was probably just laziness on Bioware's part. Why put in the extra work to differentiate characters when you can just make everyone bi and say you're doing it for the player's benefit?

Bioware's fanbase on this site is just way too entitled and invested these days when it comes to romances. Is there any other fanbase where people care so much about who you can boink or not in a video game?

I don't see how that changes my point...

There are other ways to express love that don't involve intergalactic "contact". Like headbumps.

It's not a new phenomenon, perharps in western video games. Shippers are a blight on mankind strange. Cartoon/webcomic fandoms can be savage. Just look at the Legend of Korra thread here, half of it is fanfic material.

That harem simulation is getting conflated with equality and poor game coverage in this discussion is incredibly depressing. I mean I can see what it happens, but coverage of games before launch has always been highly questionable, and I don't think that having a large range of women who want to sleep with you is really what equality is about.

I feel like something good; more female & LGBT representation in virtual worlds beyond just porn and viciously misogynistic tropes; is getting the blame for the absence of something that wouldn't have been there anyway.

That poor two people who liked Jacob and got dumped in ME3, ahahah, fun times. Much like the 'why we can't bang Sebastian?!" crowd. Sometimes I miss the upstairs forums. Then I get better.
