I am no longer able to access my DA:O  and DA2 games as I played them on ps3 which I no longer have. does this mean that I need to

repurchase theses games on a platform I have access to in order to recreate my Warden and Hawkes face?

no; keep means you forge your history without needing to play prior games.

Thats what I thought but @dragonagekeep on twitter said "he Keep will upload your Warden’s & Hawke’s appearance from DAO/DA2. "  So I think I need to get my hands on the old games again in order to make my warden again??

They will most likely upload the image that was your character portrait to represent Hawke and the Warden within the Keep.

 

If they were to import the actual character looks from a save game, DA:I would have to include all face customizations options from the previous two games, otherwise the looks of your characters couldn't be reconstructed.

 

Unlikely to happen.

In the old forums we could uplaod our progress and the image of the warden and hawke could be seen, maybe Bioware will use those images for the keep even if you had played on the ps3 your data would still be on the fourms

Its just kinda annoying that I will have to repurchase the games just to recreate the warden and Hawke for DAI. They said there is no need to play the whole game just create the character. But as someone with limited funds it just seems like a waste to buy games I am not gonna play again

You dont need to repurchase the first two games to deal with Inquisition. The Keep will cover anyone for Inquisition from previous 2 games. All the choices that would be important that gets carried over will be in the Keep. Actually, playing the first two again would only be for fun and not really important at all for Inquisition.

No but what im saying is the keep will not allow you to recreate your Wardens or Hawkes appearance. They will be default, The only way to change them is to import a save you have into the keep and sync it with your origin account. you don't need to play the games all the way just make the characters. Thats why im saying  in order to change there faces I need the previous games

You won't get those appearances in game anyway. Different engines and no face import.

Though the Keep does not have a character creator to customize the look of Warden and Hawke, they do have Race/Gender/Class options in the Keep for that. I believe Mike Laidlaw (could be wrong) put on Twitter that if the Warden or Hawke appear in-game, there will be a Character Creator in-game for them.

OP, you are wrong. You don't need to buy the previous games to get the appearance of the previous heroes in the Keep and from there into DAI. All it saves from the previous games is an IMAGE and NOT an actual face code so the game won't be able to recreate your hero through the Keep. The appearance of the previous heroes will more than likely be recreated in the CC of DAI.

The tweet you posted was taken out of context as per Bioware post on reddit where it was once again reaffirmed the Keep only loads an image file which doesn't load into DAI.
