Just for fun to kill the time while we wait for November; Who was your favorite charcter/companion from the previous Dragon Age games and from the pictures, demos, and trailers released so far who is the leading in Inquisition? Also who wins the undesputed BadAss and Biggest *******/Most Annoying Character Awards in your opinion?

 

For me I have to say the Best Companion Awards for DAO has to be co-given to Best Male Companion Alister, and Best Female Companion Morrigan. The Best Companion for 2 has to be Varric, hands down. From what I have seen of Inquisition so far the most interesting character cant be anyone else but the horned giant beast known as Iron Bull. The Undesputed Badass Awards belongs to Shale for all the birds she kills. And for me personally the Most Annoying Companion Awards goes to a slew of NPCS including: Sten, Carver, Anders, and Aveline.

Best Troll:  Velanna to Sigrun (she asks if dwarves are really born as rocks like ogrhen told her)

 

Best Dialogue:  Telling anders hes aiming too low for his goals and him saying he wants a harem and the right to rain firey death upon templars

Best Character:  Varric (bros to the close)

 

Worst Character:  Anders (bring back awakening anders!)

 

Funniest moment:  Hearing Serendipity's voice for the first time in the blooming rose

 

Most annoying moment:  any quest that deals with the mages or templars (especially the last main quest)

 

Best Companion Quest:  Fenris (merrill close 2nd)

 

Best Main Quest:  Demands of the Qun (1v1 vs arishok)

 

Best Side Quest:  A murder of crows (zevran isabella 3some action)

 

Best Romance:  Merrill (dont judge, i think of her more as a pet then a wife) (honorable mention varric, he so not romancable, that hes romancable)

 

Character least used:  Isabella (too fragil)

 

Best villain:  Quentin (dude reanimated your mom's corpse... theres a yo mama joke in there somewhere)

 

Best troll:  Isabella to varric

 

Best Dialogue:  Hakwe talking about tying up martin and isabella go and finding some honesty

 

Best DLC:  Legacy (I liked MOA, but in terms of epicness, legacy just barely edges it out... plus everyone hates tallis for some damn reason)

Best character: Alistair [Actually I am not a big fan of his, but I can't deny the body-of-work that makes up his character. Apart from a somewhat dull backstory (pales in comparison to other companions), Alistair has an interesting circumstance of being the bastard son of Maric and his fate can go many different ways. Additionally, you can influence him a bit as a person (though the mechanic for accomplishing does not make a whole lot of sense) and that can have a big impact on his fate. On a personal level, he's a guy who many fans love, and many others can't stand. Has flaws, and is a very "human" character. Again, not a favorite of mine, but the character itself is very well thought-out]

 

Best companion: Morrigan [Does not go to Alistair by default, because his strongest traits as a character are things that do not really apply as a companion. Morrigan is exotic and alluring, has strong opinions, great voice-acting, and offers an alternative ending to the story that saves the PC's life... but with dark strings attached]

Best gameplay companion: Wynne [any video-game companion character with buff and heal talents is a winner, only drawback is dealing with Wynne the character]

Best human non-companion: Mad Hermit

Best elven non-companion: Shianni

Best dwarven non-companion: Sandal

Best demon: Mouse

Best antagonist: Loghain Mac Tir [I think even the biggest Loghain detractors can agree with this one, 'nuff said]

Best gameplay enemy: Ser Cauthrien [only character in-game that can actually beat the player!]

Unsung hero: Riordan

Worst companion: Sten [underdeveloped (design itself is inaccurate to the qunari race), dialogue exhausts very quickly, only unlocking further dialogue with his very-hard-to-come-by approval (gift spam withstanding), which brings me into the next issue with his character]

Worst companion in gameplay: Sten [in an abundance of warrior companions, Sten can bug out and have no specialization at level 7, making him an inferior choice by default to Oghren, and giving him less versatility than Alistair, and no special talents to set him apart from Dog or Shale]

Worst character: Branka [over-zealous and de-legitimizes a perfectly good argument for in a major moral dilemma in the game, has no real character-depth to speak of either and is very one-dimmensional. Jennifer Hepler fails again]

 

DA:A

 

Best companion: Anders [nobody really stands out here, but Anders is funnier than Alistair and much easier to like]

Best companion in gameplay: Anders [see: DA:O Wynne]

Best human non-companion: Seneschal Varel [largely by default, as there is no real competition]

Best elven non-companion: Seranni [largely by default, as there is no real competition]

Best dwarven non-companion: (tie) the Dworkin brothers.

Best demon: The Baroness.

Best antagonist: Velanna [she's a looker, as Anders astutely points out, but then she's also mad (both the angry and crazy kinds) and runs you up the wall with how violent and unreasonable she is ... and then she has an incredibly sad story attached to it all, whether you learn it from her or not (points for player-agency)]

Best gameplay enemy: The Architect

Unsung hero: Seneschal Varel

Worst companion: Oghren [I happen to love him, but his appearance here is questionable since he could have left the Warden on bad terms or could have even been slain by him/her]

Worst companion in gameplay: Oghren
