I like the design for half-elves in DA2. They were very recognizably human but you could tell they were part elf too.

See that's where you get it wrong. Most of the "Anti-Elven" crowd are really Anti-DALISH. I happen to like and support the City Elves. The Dalish can all ride a landship off a cliff though.

 

I actually love those fellows, i see the potential for elven soldiers of Orlais.

 

Nilfgaard does as well it does, because it has non humans in its armies.

 

Elven Scouts, spies, and assassins, Dwarven smiths and what have you.

They're too similar to regular fantasy elves, they're smug like regular fantasy elves, and they ride deer. The worst offense of the lot!

 

I prefer City Elves like Fenris. Guys who look like anime heroes but sound deep.

Again in all seriousness the fact that over 80% of players chose to help the mages in DA2 speaks volumes.

Elrond was 100% elven but still Elrond Half-Elven.

Has this been officially stated or is it just fan conjecture?  I mean are they truly only human or is it more that the Elven traits, being recessive, are masked by the human traits?

 

Personally I'd prefer the latter, otherwise they would essentially be anti-Asari.

Yeah, the game would make MUCH more sense if it was Orsino as the final boss for the Templars.
