I've been wondering about something...

I'll be getting Inquisition on PC, but I know my girlfriend will want to play it as well.

The only problem I have with that is that she will be playing with my Bioware account and potentially earn my trophies!

Is there a way around that maybe? Like switching to a different account? I'm guessing probably not...

Also, am I correct in thinking that I can create several world states in The Keep to use for different playthroughs? At least I can then let her create her own world state for her playthroughs.

But everything is going to be linked to my account only, right?

And I'm wondering, what about installing a second copy of the game in a different location for her instead? Or maybe I should get it for her on playstation.

Any thoughts on this would be welcomed.

I'm not sure if I can answer your question outright, but maybe offer a little bit of insight? Probably going to be a bit rambly, I'm tired, and words aren't exactly flowing correctly.

My husband and I use one Origin account as well. Everything Bioware goes to his email, even though I'm the one that primarily plays Dragon Age. But he plays Mass Effect on our ps3, and all of his trophies are there, synced to the account. While all of mine for Dragon Age (PC) are there, but my characters aren't because it's glitchy like that. Actually, his DA trophies show up on the old BSN as well (from the ps3 version). So yeah, it looks like everything will be linked to your account. If I'm seeing it right. And yeah... we have 4 copies of the game, all synced. I can see all of them. One for each platform.

But it looks like they're separated based on the different copies of the game. So if you want to separate them, I'd just get it for the playstation. Not like I know for sure!

My question actually was... could we both have Origin open and play on the same profile... so we settled getting it for the ps4, and taking turns :P I want to play it more then him, so... he reluctantly let me have my victory (he gets chocolate chip cookies, in return.)

Keep in mind that if you got a copy for her on playstation you won't be able to play mp with her. It is time to man up dude, and buy her a new pc plus a copy of DA:I.

Can you log into multiple different accounts on the same install?  I've never tried. Your DLC in the previous games is tied to your Origin account, so you'd lose all the DLC.

I mean, I can log into Steam on my housemate's computer and play Torchlight with my characters (or my other Steam games if I want to wait four or five hours to re-download them all).

If they share a copy they won't be able to play MP together ANYWAY.

The game will be locked to your EA account. The only way around that would be to buy a second copy of the game of the game and register it to a second, separate EA account.

You could also buy the PS4 version for her whilst you play the PC version. You can register them to the same account, but trophies and origin achievements will obviously be earned separately, as will DLC and potential unlockables.

Bull.  I just loaded Origins, logged out my existing account, CREATED a new account, logged that one in.  I got a message saying "another user logged in previously, your achievements aren't shared etc. etc."

So, yeah, my money is on "have your lady create her own Origin account and log in using that account when she plays".  There doesn't appear to be any limitation on doing so.

Although, IF DLC is tied to your account you may need to purchase multiple copies--assuming you care to buy any DLC at all.

or she could get her own or even get her own playstation copy and an Origin Account, which would resolve the issue.

Nah, I just did the same thing with DA2--the DLC isn't shared, but you can freely log in multiple accounts to the same copy of the game on the same computer.  Heck, you can just MAKE a new account from within the game in about 10 seconds.  It really is JUST that easy.

That depends on whether you want to play mp with her or not.

Le shrug. Listen to this person, I guess.

Good to hear that Origin isn't as spiteful as some other digital platforms, in any case.

Oh sweet! I didn't know this can be done. I only want to prevent her from nomming MY achievement, more than anything. This may solve that little problem.

Multiplayer, meh. Not too bothered with that.

If you each create a Microsoft account when you log on to the computer and one of you plays offline it should be fine.

I have shared both my Dragon AGe games with my three siblings and I never had problem with the possibility of them earning all the trophies without me.

Maybe because sharing a good story-driven game experience is always much more fun than any possible trophy.

That's great - so you don't care if they earn your trophies.

Me on the other hand mind it very much. I want to earn my own trophies, see? I get immense satisfaction from it.

I have the feeling this isn't going to be the case for DAI, because DAI will likely have to be launched  through Origin (Origin, not Origins as in Dragon Age Origins, which psychoblonde was talking about), and for that you need to have the game registered on your EA Origin account. If you log into Origin with a different account that doesn't own DAI, you won't see it in your catalog and won't be able to play it. I doubt you can still swap accounts in-game then.

I have the same problem of having to use a shared account. My ex registered my Stone Prisoner code on his account so if I want to use Shale I have to play on his account. Bought DA2 together as well, and he was the first to register, so again...

Both actually. DAO and DA2 was first completed in ps3 alongside with my two older sisters and our characters.

But later when my little brother started to show intrest to the series and both game swere super cheap on Origin, I did a playthrough with him in PC so we could enjoy greater graphics and mods.

Before the Dragon Age franchise became my favorite series, I originally bought Mass Effect 2 as a Christmas present for my son in 2009. It was a second game to accompany whichever one he had actually asked for, but he never opened ME2 and I eventually popped the seal and gave it a go myself. And that was all she wrote!

I had never been much of a gamer prior to that, but the story hooked me and I've been a Bioware junkie ever since. In addition to my Origin account [Xbox Live] I have two offline accounts, for spillover when I max out saves and can't seem to delete characters that I've spent a lot of time with.

If you want to play MP with her then two copies. Otherwise you can install it for all users, while she plays offline so as to not synch your trophies with origins

Yeah that's some solid advice right there. Then she leaves him because it doesn't 'work out' for whatever reason and he's that much poorer. Stick to dragon age, relationship advice is not your forte.

Right, because EVERYBODY has that much extra money.
Keep in mind that even if someone is good at being financially responsible, they might have other obligations that prevent them from having that all that spare money that you seem to. For some people even "saving" for that PC isn't an option at the moment, even if they can afford to buy the game, because of the aforementioned obligations. OP asked a reasonable question--again, please keep in mind that your choice might not be a choice at all for some people.
