Right, because EVERYBODY has that much extra money.
Keep in mind that even if someone is good at being financially responsible, they might have other obligations that prevent them from having that all that spare money that you seem to. For some people even "saving" for that PC isn't an option at the moment, even if they can afford to buy the game, because of the aforementioned obligations. OP asked a reasonable question--again, please keep in mind that your choice might not be a choice at all for some people.

As things are at the moment, I am trying to save up for a new graphics card in order to get the most from Inquisition on my PC.

The suggestion to let the goose play offline so she doesn't eat up all my achievements so far seems like the simplest option.

Thanks for all the comments guys, some of which are quite amusing! :D

When you 'buy' a game you are buying a license to use that software.   One license per machine or account.   There is no way 'around' that.    If you want separate trophies and achievements, then you will have to buy another copy.

Derek French might have more information. You could try tweeting him.

And install it on the same PC? Not sure that would work.

You wouldn't need to install two copies on the same PC, but you would have two accounts.   You would just have to sign into the appropriate account when you start the game.    The game license though would have to exist on both accounts.

He's saying you'd need a second activation code to link it to a different account.

But with only one install, that seems silly.

If the game is installed, any number of users can play it, as long as they also own the game/dlc. You don't need multiple installs. If you don't want to share an account, then you need to buy a second copy of the game on another account.

As others have said to have separate achievements you will each need your own personal Origin account which means that you will need to buy two copies of the game. If you can overlook the shared achievements you can have up to five different profiles stored in The Keep (that number is subject to change). If you do go the route of having each of you having a separate account you don't need a separate install of the game, but will need to buy the DLC for each copy of the game if you buy DLC.  Just make sure you log out of your Origin account each time you are done playing and you can share the same install so you don't accidentally play the other person's copy of the game.

Maker's breath.....2 copies of the game and a second PC...It's as I feared. Gonna need to grease some palms...

Especially your own, if you don't solve the issue.

Are you absolutely set on playing it on pc? If you got a physical copy on playstation you could both play it on separate accounts.

Edit: actually that would work with digital as well.

I am considering my options...

I am familiar with playing both Origins and DA2 on PC so breaking the mould and going to console is a daunting prospect, but it's not ruled out by all means.

We shall see, I am gathering information thanks to folks posting their comments here.

I thought each copy of DA:I would be tied to a single Origin account since it requires Origin to play. Like ME3, BF3, BF4 etc.

Don't take my word for it, but it's most likely that OP will need two copies of the game if he doesn't want to share his account with his GF.

Sorry been a long day and I might be misreading what you are saying.

The game itself isn't tied to Origin, but the CD Key for each is, so if the OP doesn't want to share account specific unlocks then they can share the same install just each would need a separate account with a different CD Key.

Yeah, that's what I meant. LOL

You only need to install the game once, but need two copies (two keys) in order to play on two different accounts.
