Is there anyone knowledgeable on "it" and can give examples of how one lives under "such". Instead of posting links to wiki pages, post actual facts or text straight from the games and novels. Vision is still blurry on the subject. Curiosity hungers and interests seeks to quench this. Wish to play a Tal-Vashoth not out of ignorance but understanding to either resubmit to the Qun or follow the path of grey.

If your asking for opinions you will find both positives and negatives. The general idea of the Qun is that they are a plato equse republic were everyone has job or place. But due their wish to make sense of the world the tend so force their belief being seen as conquerers.

Well, playing as part of the Qun isn't really going to be an option in the game.    Members of the Qun don't really think how normal people would think.    No member of the Qun would go about creating a separate organization that they would lead.    It just wouldn't happen.

Qun members don't really think of themselves as individuals.   They think of only the Qun as a whole.   They have no more individual desires or outlook that the keys on your keyboard think of themselves as individuals.   They only see themselves as part of a whole.

Most of the wiki stuff is pulled straight from the game materials, so it is a good place to at least start.

I see it as pretty cut and dry.   "You're either with us or against us"  That's not to say you can't be respected outside of the Qun, but its a group life...selfishness, greed, class, things like his mean nothing.  You live to better everyone on your side and are open to accept anyone of any race, color, creed...anything who wishes to join.  Really the core of it is efficiency and effectiveness.  Getting the absolute most out of everyone and everything available.  It's also about preservation and preparation.  If anything comes about or has the potential to be a threat or something you are not knowledgeable of then is it paramount that information is gathered so the proper preparations and changes can be made. You NEVER do anything that could weaken your people either.  You always want to be 2 steps ahead.

At the end of the day you do not question the Qun you live, breath, and sleep it.

If you die you are gone...your body is nothing, they don't put any significance to it, but yeah if you did good works for the people you would be remembered/respected.

I suspect a lot of the Qun is created as needed, must like the Chant of Light.

I reject the Qun. I reject the Chantry. I reject the Circle. I reject Society. I refuse to die for other people's causes.

I dictate my fate! Not You, Maker!

I wonder how the Qun is supposed to remember anyone, actually?   No one has names, just titles.   Does you body mourn when it sheds a million dead skin cells a day?   No?   I imagine the Qun don't feel anything either.

I'm actually kind of curious about how they keep track of one another since they don't even have numbers.  If some guy is telling his commander about what a certain "Sten" did or said, how does the other guy know which "Sten" he's talking about?  Do they always know where everyone is at all times, so there's no way they could possibly get confused...?  Individual names I can understand not having, but assigning everyone a number sounds like it would be pretty helpful.

hehe...

"Hey Sten!  How are ya?   Sten and I just got back from Sten's funeral.   It was really a really touching ceremony.   Sten was lowered into the ground with Sten, Sten, and Sten.   Big old monument there to remember Sten by too.    How come you didn't go?"

"Well, Sten, its like this.... My and my brother, Sten, snuck out to go fishing.   That's when Sten spotted us.   We chased him and just about caught him, except we ran into a group of Stens and an Saarebas.   I left Sten standing there and ran!  Sorry I couldn't make it to Sten's funeral.... I will miss Sten.   He was so unique."

I must retract my statement as it was out of ignorance an selfishness. I..just cant see why people would sacrifice themselves for the Qun or anything as such. Just why?
