Ugh, nevermind.

If you wanna believe the pure morality points value determine whether you pass a check, be my guest.

Off topic, isn't quoting someone an accepted form for replying to the said person on this forum?

I would assume so, but many don't quote if they expect the post to remain the one right above theirs.  Exception might be replying to an essay with an essay.

On topic.  Math is hard.

What Psychevore is saying is the bars do not tell you if you have enough points to clear any check because the bar tells you an absolute amount of points you have.  I do not think the scale was updated for DLC, even though DLC adds total possible points (could be wrong on that point).

The main thing though is that since the check is a percentage of total possible points, as you start skipping possible paragon or renegade points, you are decreasing the likelihood that even with an import bonus that you will pass said check.

I never liked this system, it forces you to metagame to avoid undesirable outcomes later, like not being able to resolve the Jack/Miranda fight which has huge consequences.  I don't quite see what paragon or renegade has to do anyway with the ability to persuade, Your skill at speaking and persuasion is independent of your moral bent.  Morality can guide how your character would approach a situation, but not how well he would handle it.  ME 1 did this much better by keeping the two things separate.
